From Inner Practice to Community Life
This dream is inspired by Camphill communities, where inclusivity and dignity are part of daily life. My goal is to plant the first seed of such a space in South Africa where body, soul and community meet in harmony.
Stage 1: Training + preparation + mentoring.
I am currently living and studying in Switzerland, where I am deepening my work in arts, inclusive community-building, Anthroposophy & Gardening. I have also been volunteering and working within different care and movement contexts in Switzerland and have the support of mentors, colleagues and friends here. The connection to Switzerland is real and essential, as this is where I am receiving part of the training, guidance and community support that will make this future project in South Africa possible.

Why this project?
This project is the first concrete step (Stage 1) in a long-term vision to create a space in South Africa where people with different abilities can live, work, and heal together.
The vision combines health, education, social life and culture into one place — a Camphill- inspired community that integrates yoga, biodynamic agriculture, art, and craft as ways to cultivate awareness, inclusion, dignity, wholeness and belonging.
I feel called to this work. For years I have been dedicating myself to yoga, breathwork and therapeutic movement, and to understanding how the body can become a bridge for healing. I have supported people with different abilities and have been part of communities where inclusivity and shared life are central. These experiences give me both the heart and the skills to hold this vision responsibly.
This is what I need backing for:
Having completed my General Anthroposophy Studies and my voluntary work at the Goetheanum Gardens, the next steps of my formation include the Art Studies at the Goetheanum, the 500h Yoga Therapy & Teacher Training at Gurukul Yogashala Ashram in Rishikesh, India (March–May 2026), and later the Inclusive Development Studies at Camphill Village Copake (New York, September 2027).
- 2025 – 2026: Completion of yoga therapy training, healing methodologies, art Studies, and project development mentoring.
- 2026 – Early 2027: Finalisation of the community concept, budget, structure, and research in South Africa.
- Mid 2027: Transition from training to planning and activation: community layout, land preparation, early building partnership conversations.
- Late 2027- 2032: Starting the 5 years Diploma study in inclusive Social Development with focus on Social Therapy at Camphill Copake.
- Late 2032: Starting to Setting up the Community in South Africa
Together, these three components form the full training process I need in this Stage 1 (Training + preparation + mentoring)— cultivating the artistic, therapeutic, and community-based skills required to bring this vision to life.
They are essential steps to embody the capacities needed to create an inclusive, movement-centered, Camphill-inspired space of healing and shared life in South Africa.
- Yoga Therapy Training will equip me with concrete therapeutic tools for inclusive, body-based work in the future community.»
- Mentoring & Project Support (Estudio Moken) Helps me develop a realistic long-term plan — structure, finances, community building — so the village can actually be created.
- Travel & Visa Costs «Allow me to complete essential training programs abroad which are not available in South Africa.»
- Accommodation & Living Costs During Training «Provide stability during an intensive training period, ensuring I can fully dedicate myself to the program.»
- Own Contribution I am contributing my own savings to cover part of the costs, as this project is a shared responsibility. Also I got a part scholarship in the Art Studies from the goetheanum 2025
A family owned piece of land in South Africa has already been set aside for the future development of the community. Once the full training process is completed the project will move into the planning and activation phase, allowing stage 1 to focus entirely on acquiring the artistic, therapeutic, and community-based competencies required.
The future community will be a small village inspired by Camphill principles — a place where people with and without disabilities live, work and grow together. The aim is to host around 10-15 residents, with shared homes, a bakery, a garden, movement and art spaces, and daily rhythms that integrate work, care and cultural life. A typical day will involve shared meals, therapeutic movement sessions, gardening or baking, creative workshops, and community gatherings. The land set aside for the project is located in king williams town, Eastern Cape, South Africa. It is currently unused family land with open space, trees and accessible areas for gardening, workshops and community buildings. The land has already been visited, blessed and discussed within the family as the future site of this community.
Alongside Estudio Moken, a mentoring studio, we are shaping this vision step by step — aligning inner preparation with grounded planning, ensuring sustainability and coherence with the principles of Social Threefolding.
