Into the life of Dinosaurs: a digital book project

Our goal

We create an interactive digital book or iOS app (depending on your device), accessible in the widest range of devices (computers, tablets, mobile phones), about our favourite theme since childhood: dinosaurs.

Why digital?

We believe in digital publishing. It offers a new experience of reading, as never before, and is the most growing industry since a couple of years. What about listening a dinosaur roaring, enlarge the section of the illustration to expand the information about some particular dinosaur, or explore a timeline millions of years long while you learn and have fun? Interacting with your computer/tablet/phone, all this and more is possible, as much as choose the language you prefer! (of course, the book will be multilingual: English, German, French and Italian).

Support and Back

The project goes on thanks to the work and passion of Fabrizio and Hernàn (with the support of Philomena and Mattia), mostly in their spare hours after work. But much more work is needed to reach completion, therefore the budget will finance the dedicated time to the final touches of the art and contents for the book; for translation, layout, programming and testing on devices, and printing (it requires ISBN codes for every language, and shipping cost); as well as for fine-tuning all the different digital versions of the book, to make it suitable for almost any device in the market.

Project and passion (or the other way around?)

It’s been a year since we started this project, rooted in our two passions: Dinosaurs and illustration. Illustration, design and programming are our everyday activities: it seemed logical to take advantage of our professional expertise and design a real book, trusting that good illustrations and dinosaurs are a killer combination. Enriched with interactivity, we believe the mix could become pure dynamite! Because we all love dinosaurs, and everyone who’s interested in these creatures, children and grown-ups alike, will find interesting facts together with effective, interactive illustrations that will guarantee hours of entertainment, learning and fun.

As this project born with the personal work and passion of Fabrizio, Hernàn, Mattia and Philomena, much more work is needed to arrive to completion. Who’s behind MediActivity? MediActivity is the name we call our virtual studio, it’s virtual because we all work in our own different city, but it’s also a hope to create in the future our stable headquarters in Switzerland
