Isfahan / Half of the world
About me
My name is Behzad Bagheri. I was born in 1976 in Isfahan. I graduated from the University of Art of Tehran in 2003. I am the holder of an M.A. in architecture and have been lecturer in architecture at PNU university since 2005.
I started using watercolor and sketch for my architecture designs before discovering that they could also be used as a way to communicate with others (as well as with myself).
Watercolor painting and sketching is a journey for me. They are what I do, how I live and who I am. They form an integral part of my life.
Every day life inspires me to paint and in return sketching inspires me to discover the world that surrounds me.
About this project
Isfahan is the capital of Isfahan Province in Iran, located about 340 kilometres (211 miles) south of Tehran.
Isfahan is located on the main north–south and east–west routes crossing Iran, and was once one of the largest cities in the world.
It flourished from 1050 to 1722, particularly in the 16th and 17th centuries under the Safavid dynasty, when it became the capital of Persia for the second time in its history.
Even today, the city retains much of its past glory. It is famous for its Persian–Islamic architecture, with many beautiful boulevards, covered bridges, palaces, mosques, and minarets.
This led to the Persian proverb «Esfahān nesf-e- jahān ast» (Isfahan is half of the world).
The Naghsh-e Jahan Square in Isfahan is one of the largest city squares in the world. It has been designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
The city also has a wide variety of historic monuments and is known for the paintings, history and architecture.
I want to present some prints of my works about Isfahan in this project. You can connect to wemakeit.com and help me to fund this project.
I have made two PDF files entitled List1 and List2 in issuu.com that you can see and choose your favorite works from them. Their links are beneath this page.
This is what I need backing for.
I am an urban sketchers correspondent. Our mission is to raise the artistic, storytelling and educational value of on-location drawing, promoting its practice and connecting people around the world who draw on location where they live and travel. In this project, I will also introduce my beautiful country and city to the world.
You could find your favorite works from the PDF file links list 1 and list 2.
