KAZI Startfunding

KAZI aims to facilitate the launch of projects in line with sustainable development goals in Tanzania and Chad.

We have 3 principles:

  1. Facilitate access to financial resources for local entrepreneurs through interest-free loans indexed in local currency.
  2. Empower local entrepreneurs by giving them complete autonomy over their projects, from development to execution.
  3. Support projects with economic, social, and environmental impact through a transparent selection process.

We believe that the best approach to ensuring the sustainability of a project is to make it as self-reliant as possible. This approach allows us to demonstrate our belief in local capacity development and utilization.

Today, we seek your support to develop the Chadian branch of KAZI. The Chadian team, FEDJIN KAZI Chad, has selected two pilot projects for which we now need financial support.

Description of the first pilot project in Chad

The first project is an irrigated organic crop initiative during the off-season, covering an area of 2 hectares, in the village of GOUMANGO, located in southwestern Chad. This enterprise is managed by a collective of 8 families. Its objective is to promote sustainable and environmentally-friendly agriculture, enabling year-round harvesting through irrigation.

This involves the establishment of an agricultural irrigation system for vegetable and cereal cultivation using solar pumps (electric pumps powered by solar panels) to allow local organic agricultural production even in situations of water stress.

The goal is to improve food security in Chad, increase community incomes, and reduce imports. The total amount for the complete installation is 2.8 million FCFA, which is approximately 4,100 Swiss Francs. Repayment is planned over 18 months.

Description of the second pilot project in Chad

The second project aims to install a solar power station in the village of Dari, also located in the same region. This station will be dedicated to charging electronic devices and electric batteries, providing residents with reliable access to clean energy. This will contribute to improving their quality of life while reducing the carbon footprint of the region.

This involves the installation of 3 mobile solar charging stations equipped with 30 power outlets each. Each installation consists of solar panels, batteries, multiple outlets, and structural support elements.

The goal is to improve access to electricity in off-grid regions, increase community incomes, and provide training to young individuals from rural areas in the field of electricity.

The allocated amount for the pilot phase is 1.9 million FCFA for 3 installations, which is approximately 2,900 Swiss Francs.

Lastly, among our initiatives, we have several other projects focused on renewable energies, organic agriculture, and combating pollution. We are deeply committed to promoting sustainable development and preserving the environmental balance of our region.

We firmly believe that these projects will have a significant positive impact on local communities, creating economic opportunities while safeguarding the precious ecosystem. Through your dedication and our partnership, we aspire to a better future for all.
