Dear Planet First supporter,

The Planet First campaign to remove 100 tons of CO2 from the air has today come to an end. Unfortunately we did not meet our goal and we will not be able to fund the CO2 removal and storage underground.

Thank you so much for your support. Whilst we are disappointed that the campaign was not successful, we are encouraged by the amount of you who believed in and were passionate enough to back the project.

We would like to apologise to you all that we were not able to realise our goal. After we attended the opening of Climeworks’ world first commercial carbon capture plant, and Donald Trump had made his decision to pull the USA out of the Paris Agreement, we wanted to immediately make a difference in the fight against climate change. We are so passionate about the technology, so we set up the campaign immediately.

We overestimated the virility of the campaign and, in hindsight, we should have taken a little more time in the planning stage. Currently, because of Donald Trump’s decision, there is a huge wealth of material on climate change across the internet, and it was very difficult to have our campaign noticed.

We still firmly believe in Climeworks’ technology as one solution in the fight against climate change. We are excited to see how their technology develops and the many ways in which CO2 can be used as a raw material, especially its usage in create CO2 neutral synthetic fuels.

Thank you once again. Keep putting the Planet First!

Best Regards

The Planet First team
