This is what it's all about.

My name is Ronny, I am 24 years old and come from Valais. After having passed my law studies (Bachelor and Master, 2 times summa cum laude) I am now doing my internship in the canton of Vaud.

I was lucky that my family supported me during my studies. This is not something to take for granted, but so I became the first person in our family ever to go to university. Nevertheless, it has always been a goal for me to become independent as early as possible. I achieved this goal a year before I finished my studies, after I took two jobs at the same time. It was possible for me from then on to move into my own apartment and live independently, which I did.

Last week I got a place at the famous King’s College in London to study for an LL.M. degree. However, it is not possible for me to live on site for 1 year - a whole year without working and living on site including tuition fees is too expensive for me. I have decided to do the LL.M by distance learning, concurrently with my internship. I already work easily over 55 hours a week, but have learned that with diligence, ambition and incentive, anything is possible.

My salary allows me to be self-employed. However, most of it goes for rent, food, insurance, etc. Studying at King’s College costs GBP 19,5000 for both years - cheap for an LL.M, but too expensive for me. For this reason I decided to start a crowdfunding on wemakeit.

My project is special because ...

It is a unique opportunity to be able to study at such a prestigious university. However, the tuition fees exceed my financial capacity by far. I do not want to ask family members for help again, as they have already done more than enough for me.

This is what I need backing for.

The tuition fee of GBP 19’500 (about CHF 25’000) covers the whole study, for two years. I am able to put GBP 4’500 on my own (about CHF 5’770). I am seeking help for the rest of the study fees of GBP 15’000 (CHF 19’500). There are no to few other costs (administrative, or books). I can cover these myself.
