Our first CD with Schubert's music for romantic Viennese Guitars
We are Duo Morat-Fergo. We are fascinated by Schubert’s Music and now we want to share this fascination with you, not only in our concerts across Europe but also on a CD!
On our debut album we will record some of Schubert’s most famous piano pieces; including Impromptus, the Moments Musicaux and a selection of the Valses Sentimentales. Many of these pieces have never before been arranged for guitar and recorded. All arrangements we have done ourselves and we perform them on the romantic Viennese guitars. This is something unique. Have a listen yourself:
Our project is special because ...
Schubert left no composition for solo guitar. At the same time the guitar was a fashionable instrument in Schubert’s time and home country. We know that Schubert has a guitar in his possession throughout most of his life and played it sometimes. How does Schubert’s music sound on the guitar? How would he have composed for the instrument? These questions we hope to give our personal answers to with our new CD.
This is what we need backing for.
We will record the CD in Kloster Marienmünster which has an excellent concert hall. The sound engineer Piotr Furmanczyk, who has worked with such artists as Andras Schiff, will record the album. We need your support to finance the expenses involved with the recording: rent of recording location and payment of sound engineer.
The budget for the entire project - including fees for label, promotion and distribution - will be 18’000 CHF (around 15’000 Euros). One half of the budget we would like to finance through fonds and the wemakeit plattform, the other half we will pay ourselves.
Support us and become a part of this exciting classical music project. We have nice rewards for you…! Our sincere thanks to all who support us!
