Zwei Jahre nach der Veröffentlichung von «Holst Gate» ließen sich CONVERTIBLE nicht lange bitten. Gefühle und Worte drängten unwiderstehlich an die Oberfläche um vertont und in die Welt getragen zu werden. Hier ist er nun. Der Nachfolger. «Holst Gate II».

Guten Abend

Wir bauen zurzeit die neuen Banderolen für das Projekt zusammen. Jetzt ist es auch so wie wir uns das vorgestellt haben. Wir sind glücklich.

Die allermeisten von Euch sollten mittlerweile auch schon die Platte zu Hause haben. Einzig Übersee wird mit der neuen Banderole verschickt und kommt daher verspätet. Auch die «Deluxe»-Variante mit allen Signaturen dauert noch ein wenig. Die Cover gehen gerade auf Weltreise und sammeln Autogramme ein. Covid-bedingt dauert das ein wenig.

Für alle Wiener*innen und Leute aus der Umgebung gibt es nächste Woche zwei Mal die Möglichkeit die neue Banderole abzuholen.

1. CONVERTIBLE spielen nächsten Freitag am 7.8. 2020 im Chelsea ein Sitzplatzkonzert. Wird ganz groß. Schaut vorbei, genießt das Konzert und nehmt Euch die neue Banderole mit. Good evening

We are currently assembling the new banderoles for the project. Now it looks the way we wanted it. We are happy.

Most of you should already have the record at home by now. Only overseas will be shipped with the new banderole and will therefore arrive later. Also the «Deluxe» version with all signatures will take a little while. The covers are just going on a trip around the world to collect autographs. Due to Covid this will take a little while.

For all Viennese and people from the surrounding area there will be two times next week to pick up the new banderole.

1. CONVERTIBLE will play a seat concert next Friday on 7.8. 2020 at the Chelsea. Will be really nice evening. Stop by, enjoy the concert and take the new banderole with you. Liebe Alle Mittlerweile wurden alle Platten verschickt. Bis auf jene für Übersee. Diese werden sobald die neuen Banderolen da sind verschickt. Aber durch die Extrakosten müssen auch wir ein wenig auf die Kosten schauen, da wir das aus der Labelkasse finanzieren. Wie ist der Stand zu den neuen Banderolen? Das Material ist bestellt, sie werden nächste Woche bedruckt und gerillt. Danach fertig gestellt und für alle jene ausserhalb Wiens verschickt. Mit den Supporter*innen aus Wien nehmen wir gesondert Kontakt auf und versuchen eine Übergabe zu organisieren. Danke ein weiteres Mal für Eure Geduld. Dominik

Dear All In the meantime all records have been shipped. Except those for overseas. These will be shipped as soon as the new banderoles are available. But because of the extra costs we also have to look a little bit on the costs, as we finance this from our label cash. What is the status of the new banderoles? The material is ordered, they will be printed and creased next week. After that they will be finished and sent out for all those outside Vienna. [GERMAN] Mit einiges an Scham und schlechtem Gewissen gibt es nun wieder - und ich hoffe auch zum letzten Mal vor Versand - einen News-Beitrag zum Vinyl-Projekt.

Die Testpressungen sind frei gegeben, die Label-Aufdrucke in der Druckerei. Das Artwork liegt in den letzten Zügen der Umsetzung. Dann wird fertig gepresst.

Ich bitte hier um Verzeihung bezüglich der massiven Verzögerung. Als ich das Projekt gestartet habe bin ich davon ausgegangen alle Layout-Daten und Gestaltungselemente in digitaler Form vom Künstler zu bekommen. Es hat sich dann leider heraus gestellt, dass es nur analoges Material zum Projekt gibt.

Dieses wurde dankenswerter Weise ausgehoben und an mich gesandt. Danach hieß es: professionelles Scannen, Texte abtippen und das Artwork umsetzen. Das alles hat weit mehr Zeit in Anspruch genommen als geplant war.

Zum Teil sicherlich auch meine Schuld. Zum Teil ausserhalb meines Einflussbereichs. Trotzdem: Das Projekt ist in den letzten Zügen und ich bin mir sicher es wird bald versandt werden. Ich gehe von April aus und setze alles daran den Termin zu halten.

[ENGLISH] With some shame and guilty conscience there is now again - and I hope for the very last time before shipping - a news article about the vinyl project. The test pressings have been released, the label-prints are in the print shop. The artwork is in the last stages of realization. Then the pressing is finished.

I apologize here for the massive delay. When I started the project I assumed to get all layout data and design elements in digital form from the artist. Unfortunately it turned out that there is only analogue material available for the project.

Thankfully, this material was dug up and sent to me. Afterwards it was time for professional scanning, typing texts and the artwork. All this took much more time than planned.

Partly certainly my fault. Partly out of my sphere of influence. Nevertheless: The project is in its final stages and I am sure it will be shipped soon. I will start from April and do everything to keep the deadline.

The testpressings arrived and they sounds great! The t-shirts are at the printers and should be ready latest on February 6, 2020. Shirts and photo prints will be sent out right after that. Testpressings, regular and signed vinyl as fast as possible. Probably at the end of March. We will keep you informed, saying sorry for the delay and once again a big thank you for your patience and support!

Dear everyone, Progress is somewhat slower than hoped for, but some important steps have been taken. Firstly, all T-shirt orders have now arrived. The order will be placed next week. The photo-prints are printed, signed and will be placed in the picture frames next week. The audio data is in the press plant and we are waiting for the test pressing. Today the T-shirt-selection-mails left the office. Slowly but surely we are making progress. The goal is to send T-shirts and photos (which will be sent together in each case) to you before Christmas. It’s my turn and I am pushing.

One more time. I can’t say it often enough how grateful I am. Incredible! 120 people supported the project to create the vinyl version of HP Zinkers «Mountains Of Madness». That’s really a lot. Unbelievably many people helped to spread the idea of the project. Some of them have endured me and my quirks for the last 45 days. Many thanks for that! But - and most of you are interested in that: What will happen now? We will soon start mastering the audio data, adapting the layout, printing t-shirts and so on. If everything goes according to plan, the records will be shipped in mid February 2020, because the finished product will be presented at the 4th Vinyl & Music Festival at the Ottakringer Brewery from 6th to 8th March 2020! Liebe Unterstützerinnen, Liebe Unterstützer,

Die erste Hürde - der vierstellige Betrag - wurde nach gerade einmal fünf Tagen übersprungen. Aber der Weg ist noch ein weiter. Dennoch sind wir uns sicher, dass wir gemeinsam das Ziel und die damit verbundene Umsetzung der H.P. Zinker «Mountains Of Madness» 2xLP erreichen werden!

Oft sprechen wir den aussergewöhnlichen Bildeffekt und die Grafik von Stefan Sagmeister an. Um es ein wenig zu verdeutlichen ist diesem Neuigkeitenbrief ein Foto der CD angehängt.

Das rote Jewelcase wird bei der Vinyl-Umsetzung einer transparent-roten vollflächigen Banderole weichen. Um das richtige Material zu finden haben wir einige Tests durch geführt. Was die Stärke des Materials aber auch die Wiedergabekraft des Effekts angeht. Ein Dank an dieser Stelle an die Damen und Herren von Austrovinyl die uns hier tatkräftig unterstützt haben!

Wie Ihr seht sind wir vorbereitet. Vorbereitet für die Umsetzung des Projektes. Jetzt gilt es weiter Meter zu machen, damit aus der Vorstellung auch Realität wird.
