We are Ben and Sara Jann, we dare to take the bold step as entrepreneurs into the Bernese gastro scene. This summer we are taking over the restaurant and will continue to run the restaurant in the historic building of the former US embassy, full of passion, zest for action and fresh ideas. We are giving the restaurant a new look and need your support for dishes, chairs, paint for some new colar and our new logo. For your visit our new lighting will make it an experience.

Our inspiration is our surroundings. We supplement the vegetarian cuisine at essort with meat and fish from local pastures and waters. Sometimes an outstanding product from the accessible world finds its way onto our menu. Always produced as fairly and ecologically as possible.
Carefully focused on the surrounding produce, with a courageous portion of cosmopolitanism, we compose a modern cuisine that concentrates on the essential: pure taste.
With seasonal produce, we carefully and passionately create a menu that is surprising and creative but at the same time authentic and understandable.
With us, you arrive home away from home and spend memorable moments with your loved ones. Our personal service peppered with casual elegance sets us apart.
