Learning together
Our creative school will be located in a village (Bugat) 45 minutes from the city of Erdenet, Mongolia. Some nomadic families live in the surrounding area. Our space will be dedicated to both children (from age 5) and adults. This project will benefit the people of the village and the city, the nomads, and the various volunteers who wish to share their knowledge or discover Mongolian culture.
Our project is based on the values of mutual support and diversity. We believe that each person has something unique to contribute. Each of us has the potential to be creative. Creativity is not limited to painting or drawing; it also involves thinking differently, finding new ways to improve a situation by giving the best of oneself.
In a time when everything so often seems shaped by standardization, rules, and control, it is essential to cultivate open-mindedness and sensitivity. Our goal is to demonstrate that every individual possesses valuable qualities, talents, and knowledge that deserve to be recognized and encouraged. Furthermore, we wish to support the local economy through a local shop where various creations and handmade items such as clothing, food, soaps, teas, art, and decorative objects could be sold. We would like to offer a workshop/sharing room available to members, equipped with all sorts of tools (sewing machines, various DIY supplies, etc.) to allow them to bring their ideas to life.
Humanity, respectful of our earth and aware of our surroundings
Nomadic culture is slowly disappearing, its values are being lost. The notions of sharing and humanity are fading away. We want to maintain this balance of ancestral traditions and offer our support as much as possible. We want to create this project in the countryside because we are both deeply attached to and moved by this authentic nomadic spirit.
One day, while visiting my nomadic friends, I drew with the father and his child. A moment that seems simple at first glance, but which, deep down, is so precious. One of my best memories. It was at that moment that I decided to dedicate more time to art in the countryside. – Aurélie
About us + Budget
Who are we? My name is Urangoo Ider. I am a fashion designer and artist. I have a strong interest in art and recycling, which is reflected in my various works. I have over 10 years of experience, have created my own clothing brand, and have also taught several online courses. My philosophy is based on an eco-friendly lifestyle, sharing, and personal development through art and creation. In this project—school by school—I will manage the various workshops for adults, whether related to sewing, paper crafts, or other mediums such as «recycled art,» as well as the logistics with the local shop. I will support personal projects from the beginning and help people develop their initial ideas.
My name is Aurélie Cornaz. When I was in Switzerland, I worked as a graphic designer, decorator, and climbing instructor. I currently live in Mongolia, where I teach English through art at a school in Ulaanbaatar to children aged 5 to 10. I also lead art workshops to help children express their feelings and better understand their emotions (art therapy). I’ve been drawing since I was very young. For me, art is neither «beautiful» nor «ugly.» It’s not a means of judgment, but rather a way for everyone to express their inner world. In this project—working with different schools—I will be responsible for the creative activities with the children, as well as tending the garden, harvesting vegetables, and building outdoor structures. I have several years of experience teaching children.
Together, we will also ensure the best possible welcome and smooth running of the volunteers’ stay, making sure to listen to everyone’s needs and desires.
A detailed schedule and online calendar will be created for each month, outlining the proposed activities. People will then be able to register and choose according to their preferences.
