Our next Youtube adventure: Space Africa!

Hi, we’re Antoine and Chloé! We’re two science enthusiasts who’ve been friends since our physics Bachelor’s at EPFL.

👉 Antoine is now a researcher at MIT and a science YouTuber. His thing? Putting science to the test in the real world.

👉 Chloé is an aerospace engineer by training and a science communicator for RTS (Swiss National TV) and on social media, where she shares her passion for space and science.

Together, we co-founded the non-profit organization «Science on the Ground» (La Science à l’épreuve du terrain), with the mission of producing science documentaries filmed in the field — and making them freely accessible to everyone on YouTube.

What's the plan?

This May, we’re flying to Egypt — destination: Cairo’s Space City — to film a unique documentary about the creation of the African Space Agency. A story that’s never been told on YouTube… and yet, it’s absolutely fascinating!

Why this topic? Because 55 African countries are joining forces to build a shared vision for space exploration. And that raises a lot of powerful questions:

  • Why create a pan-African space agency?
  • What are its concrete goals?
  • How does it operate?
  • What are the scientific, economic, climate-related, and geopolitical implications?

We’ll meet with researchers, engineers, and leaders from both the African Space Agency and the Egyptian Space Agency — guided on site by Ahmed, a passionate local expert who’s opening all the right doors for us to explore this space journey from the inside.

This documentary is for space lovers and for anyone curious about the scientific and political shifts shaping today’s world.

💡 What makes this project special?

  • A young and independent perspective on a major scientific development that remains largely unknown to the public.
  • An accessible and engaging tone, blending field reporting with accurate, in-depth science communication.
  • A 100% self-produced project — no sponsors, no ads — so we can stay fully independent.
  • A strong desire to amplify African scientific voices, often overlooked in mainstream space narratives.

Why we need you...

As independent creators, we fund our videos with our own resources. This ambitious project — part scientific documentary, part human adventure — requires significant means to be told the way it deserves. Your support will help us create high-quality content: stunning visuals, exclusive interviews, and a story full of discoveries.

Every donation makes a difference and helps us go even further. Plus, for every franc you donate to this project, the Swiss National Fund will match it — franc for franc!

All donations will go directly to our non-profit «La Science à l’épreuve du terrain» to cover travel expenses, on-site equipment rental, and post-production of the documentaries.

Join us on this exciting journey and help us share the story of the African Space Agency with the world!

Thank you so much for your support, Antoine & Chloé
