Dear supporters,
Please accept our apologies for the long silence since our last message in June. Somehow, the summer passed in the blink of an eye. But, as the saying goes, better late than never! Here’s a quick update on how our park renewal project has progressed over the last few months and what’s still to come.
Firstly, and in all honesty: I am very happy, and somewhat surprised, that the plants we planted in June made it through the extremely hot and dry summer. This is thanks entirely to the relentless efforts of the municipality of Gračanica workers, who watered the plants whenever they could. Some plants were damaged by the heat, though, and we’ll have to see next spring if we need to replace any of them (luckily, we have a little money left).
Another positive development is that we finally found a carpenter who has agreed to repair the waste baskets and some of the benches at a reasonable price. This has been slower than anticipated, but the first repairs were finally completed last week.
Last but not least, we have met with ILG school this week and are happy to share that they want to repaint the playground with their students in the coming months. We can also likely add more plants to the park with them next spring.
So, thanks to your generous crowdfunding support, we will be able to continue improving the park in the near future. Things are not as fast as initially hoped, but we are steadily moving ahead. We’ll keep you posted - promise!

Chers donateurs ! Nous vous remercions chaleureusement pour votre soutien à notre campagne de financement participatif. Grâce à votre aide, nous pourrons redonner vie à ce parc public de Cagllavica et en faire un lieu où tous les habitants et tous les âges pourront se réunir, jouer et se détendre.
Grâce à votre important soutien financier, nous avons déjà pu franchir le premier pas aujourd’hui et planter les premiers arbres, fleurs et plantes grimpantes, en collaboration avec les élèves de l’école ILG et les travailleurs infatigables de la municipalité.
