This is what it's all about.

We are R.A.V.E. – the Swiss Association for Research, Archiving and Mediation of Electronic Music. Founded in August 2025 by renowned DJs and cultural figures such as DJ Noise, DJ Madwave, Olivia Gamper (Shiny People), DJ Pure and others. Together, we are committed to one goal: preserving and reviving the history of electronic music in Switzerland.

Our first goal (CHF 40’000): We start by securing a unique collection: more than 20,000 techno, trance and acid vinyl records from 1995–2005. This collection will form the foundation of Switzerland’s first public techno vinyl archive.

Where we will make it happen: Our association is based in Bern.

After a successful crowdfunding campaign, we will immediately move forward:

09/2025: Rent the association space. 09/2025: Catalog the collection. 11/2025: Set up listening stations (stretch goal). 02/2026: Launch lending and service desk (stretch goal). 03/2026: DJ desks and first community events (stretch goal).

Who we work with: We collaborate closely with experienced DJs, event organizers and industry experts. Our board combines decades of experience in electronic music with expertise in organization, event management and association governance.

Our motivation: Techno is more than music – it’s cultural heritage. These collections should not gather dust in basements or be split up. We want to preserve them, make them accessible and turn them into a place of exchange for music lovers, DJs and researchers.

Why support us: Your support makes it possible: (1.) Secure the collection and prevent it from being lost. (2.) Create a public archive in Bern, with listening stations, workshops and events. (3.) Preserve techno culture for future generations. Together, we can make sure that an essential part of Switzerland’s club history is not lost.

What makes our project special?

This project is unique because:

We start with a collection of 20,000 records covering nearly every club and rave hit from 1995 to 2005 – the golden era of techno, trance, progressive, and acid.

Accessible to all: not a private collection, but a space for the community.

Education and inspiration: planned workshops and DJ courses will pass on knowledge and passion.

Long-term vision: establishing an association that will sustain itself through services, DJ courses, and event formats.

We are creating a physical and digital space where techno lives.

Why we need your support?

We need your help to:

Fund the purchase of the initial collection.

Build the archive infrastructure (shelves, cover scanners, listening stations, DJ setup).

Develop an initial platform for digitizing and lending records.

Install services like an ultrasonic vinyl cleaning machine and a turntable maintenance workshop.

Establish the association and strengthen the community.

Your support is the foundation for preserving techno culture – a contribution that goes far beyond this project.
