What is «Pursuit»?
Pursuit, a story of dragons, dreams, discovery and destiny, is a fictional novel which was inspired by a real life experience (see below). The story covers three time periods: the early middle ages and Einarr, the young Irish warrior; the 1950s and Gaby, an eight year girl and avid reader; modern day with Pat, a young business man in Zurich.
The story revolves around an old book which Gaby finds in the market, telling the story of Einarr and his search for a mysterious treasure. The book reaches Pat, who is Gaby’s modern day nephew. It is read only when it wants to be read, or when the reader is ready.
We follow Einarr on his journey and through his experiences until he reaches his unknown destination. Gaby’s life seems to be affected by the book as she reads it, and she finds something mysterious in its cover. Pat, distraught at his pregnant wife’s sickness is brought to the end when his business meets the FINMA!
Each of them have similar experiences and dreams. Are their lives guided? If so by whom? And for what purpose? And there are dragons. There is of course much to much to answer in just one book. A sequel is growing and will soon be on its way.
What inspired the story?
I witnessed a few years ago how an acquaintance felt under attack after receiving a large tax bill while he was in a financial tight spot. He described his feelings like being devoured by a large fire breathing dragon.
I immediately wrote a short story about Jane and the Dragon. You can read that on my website –> Jane and the Dragon.
A few months later I received inspiration to write a book on the subject and the story in «Pursuit» developed as did the characters.
As a self-help author I am also keen to share what I have learned. So you can expect a lesson or two hidden in the story. However, the novel is a work of fiction, and not another self-help book.
Why you should back this project
Writing a book costs only time and effort. Getting a book edited costs money, that is if you want to have a novel that is well written and enjoyable to read, and error free.
Other costs include the cover design, a short promotional video, a website and the first batch of printed copies. I am self-publishing so I will be investing in marketing as well. Of course the more my friends tell their friends about the book the less I will need to market. And of course there is always the chance of finding a publisher.
When you back this project you are helping to get this first novel out to the public, and you of course will be one of the first to get your copy to read.
