The Story

Breaking up the deep grays, purples and the blue of night with incandescent spots of light, the illustrator of this imaginatively conceived book captures the magic of Little moon Rada and the mysterious glow of little glaring stars. These marvelous creatures of nature.

A truly awe-inspiring masterpiece of a story book, Rada. «The True Baby Moon Fairy» opens the curtains on the backstage of the universe, a wonderful world of the little fairies who dig up the light to make their space bright as day, but what happens if Rada does come? Venture inside for a joyfully beautiful guessing game. Annie and Dannie meets a friendly Rada who just wants to play hide-and-seek. While the little moon Rada hides, Annie and Dannie decides to seek Rada and take a trip across the high sky. The book is for children & adults. The very beautiful and sensitive images and drawings of the illustrator Dina Bha Idden, give the story a magical mood.

The Book

«Complex and ethereal at the same time, Rada’s digitally manipulated spreads feature collage, stencilling, and finger painting over thickly daubed backgrounds; the pages teem with interest and texture. They’re just right for dull winter bedtimes as families wait for warmer weather.» An ideal book for learning about night time with young children.

Unusual double-page spreads in deep nighttime colors, with the shapes of frolicking children, trees, animals, and stars only dimly seen, are sparked by the glowing orbs of moonlight fairy as a red-haired, round-faced brother and sister capture the Rada the babymoon and play with her in the yard. Her lights blink out. Then the window is opened, they are released immediately, and they fly up into the darkness, flashing once again. The rhymed text of this counting book (1-39 and back again) is lyrical, expressive, varied, and excellent for reading out loud. The illustrations reflect the universal mystery and excitement of playing outdoors on a summer night and catching those strange creatures lit by cold fire.?

The book launch will take place in November 2013.
