The RIO
Die Abkürzung RIO steht für Rencontres Internationales d’Oldtimers, also Internationales Oldtimertreffen. Nach zwanzig erfolgsgekrönten Jahren wurde die Organisation dieses beliebten Events von unserem Verein APPA übernommen. Unser Ziel ist es, diese Tradition am Leben zu erhalten!
What does RIO mean?
The abbreviation RIO means «International Meeting of Oldtimers». The annual meeting has been held for twenty years before our young association, APPA, decided to resume the organization .
When, Where?
During the weekend of the 28th and 29th of June 2014 on the airfield of Fribourg-Écuvillens.
What?
The RIO is a meeting of historic aircraft from Switzerland and elsewhere allowing fans, curious and lovers to admire these aircraft from the past with their families and discuss with their pilots in a very friendly atmosphere.

Why?
Because these flying machines are part of our historical heritage. Their exceptional conservation gives us the chance to observe them in their natural environment, in the air or on tarmac of an airfield.
