This is what it's all about.
My Salvatore is a kind-hearted, caring, jovial and funny Sicilian who has had a hard time with life.
After 7 operations in 2 years he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. With the 8th operation, the pancreas and spleen were removed in a so-called Whipple operation, and the intestines and stomach were patched together with the remaining part of the bile duct. At least 10 kilos lighter, barely back on his feet, he was to undergo chemotherapy immediately. I wonder why, the tumor was completely removed including the lymph nodes and there are no metastases. He also has cirrhosis of the liver due to a burnt out inflammation.
My project is special because ...
Now that Salvatore has undergone 8 operations in a short period of time, has been stuffed full of drugs and his liver has been severely damaged, his trust in conventional medicine has taken a serious hit. Chemotherapy is inevitable, says the oncologist. But what for, the tumor was cut out completely.
We looked around for other therapy options. We found what we were looking for at the Alpstein Clinic and after a visit and discussions we were very confident that we had found the right thing.
Unfortunately, Salvatore does not have additional insurance because the health insurance companies were not interested in him as a patient after our return from Sicily. Nevertheless, we wrote to the health insurance company and asked if they would be willing to participate in the therapy. Unfortunately, the answer was negative.
This is what I need backing for.
During the operation in November 2022, all affected tissue and lymph nodes were removed, he has no metastases. What is still present in the bloodstream, however, is not known.
We will use your generous support for the fever therapy and blood purification in the Alpstein Clinic, which we are convinced will have the greatest success in finally beating the cancer.
Why are we so confident?
In all the discussions we have had with doctors, we have never had the feeling of being taken seriously, of being advised in detail and of having everything explained to us in an understandable way. With the doctors of the Alpstein Clinic, however, we did.
Since the operation in November 2022, we have been urged several times to undergo chemotherapy. This was the only possibility to cure Salvatore, but only if he would undergo the therapy within 6 - 8 weeks after the operation.
The Alpstein Clinic has never called when we would finally make an appointment.
Salvatore is struggling with some health problems caused by the surgery in November, so I refrain from making a video or anything like that with him. He relies heavily on the solidarity of his fellow human beings to finally put this chapter behind him.
