This is TROPICA
We are three young film-makers from Switzerland. This summer we are setting off on an extreme adventure: surviving for 10 days on an uninhabited tropical island - without food, without comfort, without experience, but with a cinema camera. As students, we urgently need support for the production: because it starts in two months!
What is being created? - A multi-part TV series that documents how we try to survive in the wilderness with the simplest of means - physically and mentally. Between salt water, heat, hunger and campfire conversations, a format is being created that honestly shows how young people from the digital world reach their limits in real life - and grow.
Why? Who?
Because we believe that real adventures are more important today than ever. Because we want to tell stories that are not staged, but genuine. And because we want to encourage young people to question their comfort zone - with lightness, humour and depth. With our series, we want to bring people back into real life!
We are Nils K., Nils B. and Zoé - three friends who know each other through film-making and are connected by wild ideas. After our first joint project ’Expedition ATLAS’ (a spontaneous ascent of the highest mountain in North Africa - without any experience) it was clear: we want more. Further. Wilder. We want to inspire.
TROPICA is our biggest endeavour to date - with a lot of risk, even more passion and no certainty, except that: It will be unforgettable.
This is what we need backing for.
As with our previous project ’Expedition ATLAS’, we are financing a large part of the project ourselves, earning nothing and investing months of work and passion. As students, this is of course difficult to bear. Your support - whether 5 or 50 francs - will help us reach our goal.
What we specifically need your support for:
- Support for flights & transfers: CHF 1000
- Emergency equipment & insurance: CHF 500
- Food & water on site: CHF 500
- Material costs: CHF 500
Every franc helps to realise our project - any additional amounts go directly into production!
