Beo Boys: A school bus for Mongolia
We are a group of five former school friends from the Thun region. During our travels together over the last years we have become a well-rehearsed team. Now the time has come for a new challenge: As the «Beo Boys» team, we are travelling from Switzerland to the Mongolian capital Ulan Bator this summer. We immediately liked the idea of combining an adventure with a good cause. After the start, we will first cross Eastern Europe via the southern route, before moving on to the Middle East and Central Asia. After the Caucasus we will travel along the old Silk Road and cross various mountains, deserts and steppes before reaching our destination.
The special thing about our project
The minibus with 12 seats and integrated wheelchair lift will be handed over to the «Friends of Mongolia» in Ulan Bator: An organisation that cares for children and young people with disabilities. A special kindergarten, a home service project, a youth development project and a felt and sewing workshop are organised. The organisation has already forged concrete plans with the VW bus: it is to be used as a school bus to pick up children from home and bring them to the kindergarten. In addition, trips to the hospital and therapy practice will be possible and the vehicle will be used for group excursions.
For this we need your support
The organization of the trip is, besides the purchase of the vehicle, associated with substantial costs, including repairs, fuel, insurance, visas, equipment, meals and return flights. In order to cover our expenses, we are therefore dependent on financial support. As a team we contribute CHF 15’000 to the project. Some company sponsors and family members have also already supported us with material. On the final spurt we now count on your support. Help us to reach our goal: A school bus for Mongolia.
