🌱 Handprint | Swiss Made
We have developed a vision for a sustainable contactless dispenser, including a moisturizing hand disinfection experience with freshly scented herbal formulations – say goodbye to dry hands & strong alcohol smells.
The device impresses with its highly integrated, quality controlled disinfection, integrated information system for the user, status information for services, and logistics. Additionally, the device has IoT connectivity for add-ons, e.g., flight status for Airports, several sensors, an integrated HD screen, and a loudspeaker for instruction and advertising.
We are collaborating on an Innosuisse supported research project with Bern University of Applied Science Engineering & IT, scientist team, to develop a prototype demonstration for an All-In-One-Hygienic device to reduce harmful germs & bacteria. And you can help test it! We’ll use your feedback to make Smart Sanitizer even better and even smarter over the next several months. Handprint is a Lean Innovation Award nominee & «Berner Digital Smart City Idea» prize winner.
Here’s how the project works:
We’re keeping things simple to start with: Our goal is to set the new hygienic standards our community needs. Far higher standards than the solutions available on the market.
-
The benefit of the study is to Research & Develop our prototype demonstration. Collaborating with Bern University of Applied Science; We will unite electronic, mechanical, and IT-related elements for our device. Our research team specializes in Mechatronics, Product Design, Robotics, Sensor technology & Software. We will conduct testing with users & early adopters like Genève Aéroport to experiment, test, and give feedback. We’ll use the feedback to guide the scope of the targeted research and innovation project.
-
As an early adopter, you can experiment, test, join a product research & development meeting, and give feedback.
In February 2021 we will have two Testing Launch events:
- Impact Hub Bern in the Loft, February 9, 2021, 7 p.m.
- Impact Hub Zurich in the Kommandoraum, February 16, 2021, 7 p.m.
How does it function? The device welcomes & the communications screen would instruct you with the next steps. Afterward, you insert your hands in the user area to experience the moisturizing sanitizer mist to disinfect your hands. Voilà!
The first prototype shall be delivered which integrates contactless hand sanitizing, sanitizer tank level measurement, a simple ticket information system, and display of advertisements. Further development of smart functionalities is the target in a later research and innovation project.
If you’re a fan of this idea and want to make the Swiss MedTech industry smarter, greener & digital then join us!
Why we need your input?
We all had some inefficient experiences with current market disinfection solutions— because we were not prepared for a pandemic—issues like non-hygienic systems, outdated devices with slow sensors, drying hands & dominant alcohol formulation, and no technology for maintenance or communications. Our All-In-One Hygienic solution will combine the latest science-based technologies and mist formulation for an efficient & moisturizing sanitation experience to reduce harmful germs & bacteria.
We already have the money for the research that will go towards metal materials, design case, metal parts, production parts, electronic parts (screen, sensors, wires, etc.), mechanical components, hardware installation, software, multimedia production & labor.
Phase 1: Begins Jan 2021. Delivery 4 weeks.
Our Research partners:

We’d love to draw on your support and your input to keep improving «Smart Air.» As the second step, after we define our direction, we will continue our research & development; we’re hoping to expand to include additional features and develop our Reusable Tank System.
Then we test our pilot project summer/21 with Genève Aéroport.
Check out the great rewards for you below!
