Why a Crowdfunding Campaign?

To continue producing and selling chocolate bars that fund activities and equipment for the women and children staying at the emergency shelter of Solidarité femmes Fribourg, we are launching the next chapter of the «Solidarité femmes Chocolate Bars» project.

Thanks to your purchases, we have already raised CHF 8,500 in just over one year, without any cost to the association: all production expenses have been covered through private donations.

To keep this model going—and make it even better—we need your support to produce the next 2,000 chocolate bars.

They will be available for sale from September 1, 2026, and will be more local, more artisanal, and more ethical than ever before. (Read on to find out how.)

This commitment comes at a price: the production cost of each chocolate bar will increase from CHF 3 to CHF 5. Our goal is to raise CHF 10,000 to fully cover these production costs.

Rewards and, above all, a direct impact: every 5.- donation helps to produce a chocolate bar which, when sold for 10.-, will raise 10.- for Solidarité femmes.

Our goal is to donate CHF 20,000 to the shelter within one year.

Notes de Fève

We are partnering with Notes de Fève to produce the chocolate bars. Based in Matran, this local chocolate maker is not only committed to ethical sourcing but also produces exceptional chocolate. At the 2026 International Chocolate Awards, they won five medals, including Best White Chocolate in Europe.

To support this project, Notes de Fève has generously reduced its prices, advanced all production and packaging costs, and allowed us to carry out part of the production process ourselves—with their volunteer assistance—to further reduce expenses.

Most importantly, they found the perfect cocoa for this project.

The cocoa used for the Solidarité femmes Chocolate Bars will come exclusively from the plantations of the Corpoteva cooperative in Tumaco, Colombia. Many of these plantations are managed by women, and the price paid for their cocoa—three to four times higher than the Colombian average—helps them achieve financial independence by becoming the primary income earners in their households.

This fair price also supports the cooperative’s original mission, established in 2009: to provide a sustainable alternative to coca cultivation in a region where the Colombian state continues to face challenges in asserting control over armed criminal groups.

Collaborations

The main packaging will feature an original illustration by Patak, the artist who created the very first artwork for the Solidarité femmes chocolate bars released for Christmas 2025.

The illustration is simply stunning.

The illustrated cards attached to each chocolate bar will remain part of the project, and at least six new designs are already planned in collaboration with women artists from the Fribourg region.

To make the project even more local, all printed materials will be produced by Le Cric in Marly.

If the goal is exceeded, your donations will help:

  • Ensure a presence at markets (weekly and Christmas markets).
  • Help fund an awareness-raising event on November 25.
  • Expand our product range and offer chocolate and pastry workshops.
  • Strengthen our partnerships with EPAI (educational and awareness-raising program) and the Fondatiot St. Louis (socio-professional reintegration through chocolate and pastry workshops).

Every donation and every gesture makes a difference.

Thank you to everyone who supports this project and stands with this cause.
