This is what it's all about.
Being outside, running around, doing things yourself, trying things out, failing and starting over. These are experiences of inestimable value. The Spielrevier makes such experiences possible. We preserve free spaces for children, improve them and open up new ones. We also offer free play afternoons for children between 6 and 12 years old at several locations in the east of Bern. These are open to everyone, uncomplicated, no pre-registration required - just come and play. We also advise authorities, private individuals and institutions on the planning and implementation of child-friendly measures. The Spielrevier association is affiliated with the umbrella organization for open work with children in the city of Bern (DOK).
The Spielrevier’s financial basis is being severely challenged by the expiration of the start-up funding from the city of Bern. With your donation, we can ensure that the free play afternoons and meetings can continue to be offered to the full extent in the future.
My project is special because ...
Our mission: create, preserve and expand free space for children!
The play area offers free play afternoons for children between 6 and 12 years old at several locations in Bern. Here they can be creative, play and learn.
The play area is mobile in the east of Bern. We use cargo bikes and trailers to transport the play materials. We visit three main locations weekly and all year round. We also have a smaller, flexible offer on a spontaneous basis. But to continue to make this possible, we need your support.
This is what I need backing for.
The city’s funding covers the largest costs, especially the team’s salary and the office rent. The majority of the other costs are covered by membership fees. However, we need further help to finance consumables. In order not to place an excessive burden on financially less well-off families, we do not want to increase our minimum membership fee any further.
We are using the campaign to cover the costs in the coming year, which include:
- Craft materials: paper, glue and adhesive tape, pens, chalk
- Play materials: balls, ropes, Frisbees
- Creative tools: brushes and paints, clay, modeling clay, stamps, canvases
- Outdoor equipment: garden tools
- Posters and boards
- Leather
- Popcorn and snake bread
- and LOTS OF WOOD for screwing, hammering, sawing
As you can see, you are also welcome to support us with donations in kind! You are welcome to contact us via info@spielrevier-bern.ch or come and see us on the open game afternoons :-) A (family) membership is another way to support us in the long term.
Once we have reached the first donation goal, we will move on to the years 2025 and 2026 as further goals in order to give SpielRevier longer-term planning security.
