Special music on a special album
With Bachstage, we make and play jazzed up classical music. We take a piece of music, analyze it, then rearrange and refresh it with new ideas, in order to bring classical music closer to twenty-first-century audiences. Listen to our first album here.
On our second album we don’t just want to record our special music in an ordinary way, but we want the album itself to be special too. That’s why we are going to record every track on a different place – with different surroundings, acoustics, and different atmosphere. For example in churches, halls, caves, woods, alleys, or whatever we find interesting enough for the given piece of music. We are planning to record pieces from Tchaikovsky, Piazzolla, Kodály, Mussorgsky, Bartók, Beethoven, Debussy, and more.
The trio is based in Austria and Hungary, but we would record most of the music in Hungary.
With your help we can...
- record the songs (which is the hardest part, because we won’t just go to a studio, but the studio has to go to the chosen place)
- do the mixing and mastering
- do the graphic designs for the CD
- produce the CDs with a special booklet
You will get...
not just the music itself on a CD, but a special booklet too, with photos and descriptions about the places where we recorded the pieces. Also some information about why we recorded the given piece of music on that place, why it is special for us, how we set up the microphones, etc. And also you can read some information about the pieces too.
It will take time, but the process will be exciting
We can’t tell you when it will be ready, because we don’t know it either. It depends on a lot of things. Maybe we will go somewhere, record a song, and then say that it’s not good enough. Maybe we will need good weather for a recording. But it’s okay, because we don’t want to do it fast, but well!
And we will keep you updated during the whole process. You can watch videos and pictures about the recordings, listen to previews and sound examples, so the whole thing is going to be very exciting, and we really hope that you will be with us during the project!
