In den Strophen spreche ich mit dem «Kopf» und im Refrain mit «Musik», als ob sie Personen wären. Der Text ist lustig und es ist eine gute Laune Nummer mit Tiefgang. Dadurch, dass der Song einen Latin Groove hat, kann man wunderbar Salsa dazu tanzen. Gibt es Salsa TänzerInnen unter euch? Schickt mir doch ein Video, wo ihr zu meinem Song tanzt, das wäre mega cool! In the verses I talk to the «head» and in the chorus to «music» as if they were people. The lyrics are funny and it’s a good mood song with depth. Es gab auch eine wichtige, für uns KünstlerInnen sehr bedauerliche Änderung auf Spotify: Ab nächstem Jahr verdient man nur etwas pro Stream (was sowieso sehr wenig ist) ab 1000 Streams von Minimum 50 verschiedenen Usern. Deshalb ist es umso wichtiger, dass ich möglichst bald diese 1000 Streams erreiche. Daher würde ich mich wahnsinnig freuen, wenn ihr meinen Song ab und zu streamed! :) (Nur bitte keine fake streams z.B. den Song 100 Mal hintereinander leise laufen lassen, das merkt Spotify und sperrt im schlimmsten Fall den KünstlerIn Account. Man kann ihn natürlich oft anhören, es sollte aber natürliches Hörverhalten sein. ;)

There has also been an important change on Spotify, which is very unfortunate for us artists: from next year, you only earn something per stream (which is very little anyway) from 1000 streams by at least 50 different users. Der Grund, warum es so lange gedauert hat, ist, dass ich das Album neu mastern habe lassen. Nach langer Überlegung bin ich zu dem Schluss gekommen, dass ich zu 100% happy mit dem Produkt sein muss und bin sehr froh über meine Entscheidung. Ich hatte eine gewisse Vorstellung eines warmen, intimen, jazzigen Sound, der mit den Original Masters einfach nicht erreicht wurde. Jetzt klingt es so, wie ich mir das vorgestellt habe und ich hoffe es gefällt euch auch. :)

Hört euch das Album unbedingt mit guten Kopfhörern oder Boxen an! Ihr könnt es gerne Leuten persönlich vorspielen, nur bitte noch niemand schicken oder posten, da es noch nicht veröffentlicht ist!

Ein Teil von euch wartet noch auf die physischen CDs und dazu gibt es auch News. Nach viel Recherche und Gesprächen mit BranchenexpertInnen habe ich mich entschieden, zunächst einmal ein paar Singles zu veröffentlichen bevor das Album erscheint. Aber ihr könnt natürlich jetzt schon das ganze Album hören, einstweilen als Download. Ich freue mich sehr über euer Feedback! I am so happy to be able to finally send you my album! I’m sending it to you via wetransfer as a download (a separate mail coming today). The reason it took so long is that I had the album remastered. After a lot of thought, I came to the conclusion that I have to be 100% happy with the product and I am very glad I that I decided to get it remastered. I had the specific idea of a warm, intimate, jazzy sound that unfortunately just wasn’t achieved with the original masters. Now I am very happy with the sound and I hope you like it too. :)

Some of you are still waiting for the physical CDs and there is also some news about that. After a lot of research and talking to industry experts, I have decided to release a few singles first before the album comes out. But as crowdfunding supporters, you can listen to the whole album in advance of the official release, for the time being as a download. Please let me know how you like it! All of you who weren’t at the Album Listening Party, please feel free to tell me what your 3 favorite songs are. This will help me to choose the singles.

The Wetransfer link only works for 1 week, so if you don’t have the time or possibility to download the album this week, just write to me and I’ll create a new link for you.

kreative Prozesse dauern oft länger als man denkt und so war es auch bei uns. Ein Jahr lang haben wir jetzt intensiv an dem Album gearbeitet und ich kann euch nur sagen- es hat sich ausgezahlt. ;) Jetzt ist das Albums gemixt, der Mastering Engineer ist schon engagiert und mein Baby wird bis Mitte September gemastered. Ich freue mich schon unfassbar darauf das Ergebnis endlich mit euch zu teilen. Wie ich durch viele Gespräche mit Branchenkennern herausgefunden habe, ein Release muss gut vorbereitet und geplant sein, ab dem Zeitpunkt wo das Album bereits komplett fertig ist. Deshalb kann ich euch leider noch kein Release Datum nennen, aber ihr werdet natürlich die ersten sein, die von dem Release date erfahren werden!

Um euch die Wartezeit noch etwas zu verkürzen, habe ich für euch eine Fotocollage von den Aufnahmen aller special guests, die auf dem Album zu hören sein werden und dem Mastering Engineer mit mir gemacht. Ihr habt es möglich gemacht, dass ich mit den besten der Branche arbeiten konnte und kann! Lucy Landymore, die auf 2 Songs meines Albums Vibrafon spielt, eine preisgekrönte Vibrafonistin, Schlagzeugerin, Perkussionistin und Komponistin. Sie ist in Großbritannien und ganz Europa sehr gefragt und steht mit MusikerInnen wie Pharrell Williams und Clean Bandit auf der Bühne. Mit Hans Zimmer und Andrea Bocelli tourte sie durch Arenen und bei Igudesman & Joo ist sie oft als Lead-Schlagwerkerin und -Schlagzeugerin zu Gast. Dominik Fuss, der auf 2 Songs meines Albums Trompete spielt, hat u.a. schon gespielt für: Parov Stelar Band, Josh, Juan Diego Flórez, Orchester der Vereinigten Bühnen Wien, Norbert Schneider Band, Dee Dee Bridgewater, uvm. Barry O’Mahony, der auf 3 Songs meines Albums Gitarre spielt, hat davor gespielt bei Papermoon, Jazz Orchester Vorarlberg, Max Geier, Bobby Slivovski (5/8terl in Ehren), Fatima Spar and the freedom freis, uvm.

Das Mastering Studio in dem mein Album gemastered wird hat auch die Alben von u.a. Georg Danzer, Conchita, Julian Le Play, Sarah Connor uvm. gemastered.

Last but certainly not least habe ich zwei ganz tolle Background Sängerinnen für mein Album gewinnen können, Miriam Kulmer und Jasmin Motamen. Mit Miriam habe ich die Arrangements für die backing vocals erarbeitet und sie sind unglaublich schön geworden.

creative processes can often take longer than you think and such has been the case with us. For one year now we have been working intensively on the album and I can certainly tell you – it has paid off ;) The mixing of the album is done, the mastering engineer has been hired and my baby will be mastered by mid-September. I’m really looking forward to finally sharing the result with you. As I have found out through various conversations with industry experts, an album release has to be fully prepared and planned from the moment it’s completely finished. So that’s why I can’t give you a fixed release date yet, but of course you will be the first to know as soon as I have it!

In the meantime, I have made a photo collage for you of the recording sessions with all the special guests who will be on the album. There is also a picture of me and the amazing mastering engineer Alexandr Vatagin. You guys have made it possible that I can work with the best in the business! Lucy Landymore, who plays vibraphone on 2 songs on my album, is an award winning vibraphonist, drummer, percussionist and composer. She is in high demand in the UK and throughout Europe, performing on stage with musicians such as Pharrell Williams and Clean Bandit. She has toured with Hans Zimmer and Andrea Bocelli and is a frequent guest with Igudesman & Joo as lead percussionist and drummer. Dominik Fuss, who plays trumpet on 2 songs on my album, has played for: Parov Stelar Band, Josh, Juan Diego Flórez, Orchestra of the Vereinigte Bühnen Wien, Norbert Schneider Band, Dee Dee Bridgewater, and many more. Liebe UnterstützerInnen,

trotz dieser herausfordernden Zeiten konnten wir unseren Zeitplan einhalten und sind Ende Oktober drei Tage lang ins Studio gegangen und haben alle 10 Songs aufgenommen! Es war eine unglaublich tolle und intensive Erfahrung für mich! Ich hatte das beste Team, das ich mir wünschen hätte können. Alle waren top motiviert, von den MusikerInnen, über den Studio Besitzer und den Sound Techniker und natürlich ich selbst. Alle wollten das Beste aus den Songs herausholen und haben nicht locker gelassen, bis sie mit dem Ergebnis zufrieden waren. Außerdem hatten wir viel Spaß und das ganze Team hatte «an guten Schmäh», wie man in Wien sagt.

Seitdem wir im Studio waren, arbeiten wir intensiv daran, die Songs für das Mixing fertig zu haben. Wir hatten uns entschieden, alle Instrumente gleichzeitig aufzunehmen, das heißt jede/r MusikerIn war in einem anderen Raum im Studio, wir haben einander über Kopfhörer gehört und gleichzeitig gespielt. Diese Art zum Aufnehmen ist am authentischsten, da wir alle in einer Energie sein wollten und es am besten zum Sound des Albums passt- intim, ehrlich und energetisch. Deshalb sind wir momentan damit beschäftigt die besten Takes der Songs auszuwählen, zu schneiden und zu bearbeiten. Heute nehmen wir special guests Barry O’Mahony an der Gitarre und Dominik Fuss an der Trompete auf. Es folgt dann noch Lucy Landymore am Vibrafon als special guest, worauf ich mich auch schon sehr freue. Mein Pianist und musical genius Niko Leopold spielt dann auch noch Cello ein und hat bereits verschiedene Sounds bei manchen Songs hinzugefügt.

Wenn wir mit der Nachbearbeitung der Songs fertig sind, gehen die Songs ins Mixing und daraufhin ins Mastering. Danach wird das Booklet gedruckt und das Album gepresst. Ich halte aus heutiger Sicht die ursprüngliche Veröffentlichung des Albums vor Weihnachten als nicht so realistisch, aber vielleicht gibt es für meine Unterstützer ja ein Zuckerl, dass sie exklusiv schon in etwas hineinhören können. Bleibt gespannt und ich halte euch natürlich am Laufenden!

Dear Supporters,

Despite these challenging times we managed to keep to our schedule and went into the studio for three days at the end of October and recorded all 10 songs! It was an intense and incredible experience for me! I had the best team I could have wished for. Everyone was highly motivated, from the musicians, the studio owner, the sound technician and of course me! Everyone wanted to get the best out of the songs and they didn’t let up until they were happy with the result. We also had fun and the whole team had lots of «Schmäh», as we say in Vienna.

Since being in the studio, we have been working hard to get the songs ready for mixing. We had decided to record all the instruments at the same time, which meant that every musician was in a different room in the studio. We listened to each other through headphones and played at the same time. This type of recording style is one of the most authentic and allowed us all to create an energy that best fits the sound of the album - intimate, honest and energetic. That’s why we are currently busy selecting, cutting and editing the best takes of the songs. Today we will record special guests Barry O’Mahony on guitar and Dominik Fuss on the trumpet. In the near future, Lucy Landymore will also play vibraphone as a special guest, which I am looking forward to very much. My pianist and musical genius Niko Leopold will also play the cello and has already added different sounds to some of the songs.

When we are finished with the postproduction the songs will be mixed and mastered. Then the booklet will be printed and the album pressed. Unfortunately, at the moment I don’t think that the original release date of the album of before Christmas is going to be realistic. But perhaps there will be a little special surprise for my supporters so that they can have an exclusive first listen to something before Christmas. So watch this space and I will of course keep you informed!

ich hoffe ihr hattet alle einen schönen Sommer trotz dieser herausfordernden Zeiten! Wir haben den Sommer genutzt um weiter an den Songs zu feilschen, zu proben und Band Mitglieder zu finden mit denen wir das Album aufnehmen. Ich bin sehr froh, dass wir tolle Musiker gefunden haben, die unsere kreative Vision umsetzen und den Sound meines Albums bereichern: Andreas Waelti aus der Schweiz am Kontrabass und Maria Petrova aus Bulgarien am Schlagzeug. Das ist ein Foto von unserer Probe gestern.

Die Aufnahme im Studio ist für Ende Oktober vorgesehen und die Termine haben wir uns bereits ausgemacht. Danach müssen die Songs noch gemischt und gemastered werden und das Album gepresst werden. Ich möchte das Album noch vor Weihnachten veröffentlichen.

Das Studio Konzert haben wir auf 11.10.2020 verschoben. Wenn ihr euch noch für Karten dafür interessiert, meldet euch sehr gern bei mir! Das Konzert findet in dem Studio statt in dem wir aufnehmen werden, in 1030 Wien und ist exklusiv auf 15 Leute limitiert. Wir werden natürlich alle Corona Sicherheits Bestimmungen einhalten, d.h. mind.1 Meter Abstand zwischen den Sitzen, Masken, wenn man nicht am Platz ist, etc.

Die meisten Goodies sind bereits eingelöst bzw. verschickt worden. Die Taschen kommen dann gemeinsam mit der CD. Wenn ihr Fragen habt zu eurem Goodie, meldet euch gern bei mir!

Musicians & Studio Concert & Goodies Dear supporters,

I hope you all had a great summer, despite these challenging times! We used the summer to continue working on the songs, rehearsing and finding band members to record the album with. I’m very happy that we have found great musicians to realize our creative vision and enrich the sound of my album: Andreas Waelti from Switzerland on double bass and Maria Petrova from Bulgaria on drums. This is a photo of our rehearsal yesterday.

The recording in the studio is scheduled for the end of October. After that, the songs have to be mixed and mastered and the album will be pressed. I aim to release the album before Christmas.

We have postponed the studio concert to 11.10.2020. If you are still interested in tickets, please contact me! The concert will take place in the studio where we will record (in 1030 Vienna) and is exclusively limited to 15 people. We will of course comply with all Corona safety regulations, i.e. at least 1-meter distance between the seats, masks when you are not at your seat, etc.

Most of the goodies have already been redeemed or sent out. The bags will arrive together with the CD. If you have any questions about your goodie, please contact me!
