Créé à la fin du XIXe, le Musée Africain abrite l’une des rares collections françaises dédiées aux arts et cultures africains. Par ses expositions, ses rencontres, il promeut les patrimoines d’Afrique subsaharienne, tant les œuvres du début du XXe que l’art contemporain. L’une de ses missions est le dialogue interculturel notamment avec les différentes diasporas africaines en France.
