What is it about?
With our CD, we want to make an extraordinary personality VISIBLE again — and above all, AUDIBLE again: SARA LEVY, a Jewish salonnière from 18th century Berlin, music lover, and an important patron of the music of the Bach family. Long thought to be lost, many works from the 18th century survived in her music collection, which only resurfaced in Kyiv in 2011.
WHAT DOES SARA LEVY SOUND LIKE?
On our CD we bring historical and contemporary music together on equal footing: alongside original works from Sara Levy’s collection for traverso flute, viola da gamba, and harpsichord, new compositions by Daniel Serrano will also be heard. Past and present enter into a direct dialogue — and it is precisely this connection that fascinates us most!
Our Timeline
Our recording project is divided into two parts. We already had the opportunity to record the contemporary section in November 2025 in Ambronay (FR) with Enrico Fiocco. The second part will follow in July 2026 in Lower Austria (A). For the past year, we’ve also been working on organizing a release tour for 2027. This autumn, we will begin the mastering process and, after delivering everything to the label, finally take a a short breath. Your crowdfunding rewards will arrive during the summer!
What We Need Your Support For
We all know the saying: «No money, no music.» Even today, a CD or professional music production remains incredibly important when it comes to sharing our music and ideas on the international music scene. Alongside emotional support, the success of our very first CD also depends on dedicated people willing to contribute financially and help fuel our project. At this point already, we want to sincerely thank you for your time and your support!
WHAT YOUR CONTRIBUTION HELPS US COVER:
- our sound engineer David
- our recording producer Enrico
- the concert hall where the recordings will take place
- the accommodation where we will collapse into bed after long recording days — exhausted but happy
- the harpsichord
- the photographer capturing our focused moments during the sessions
- the travel expenses to the recording location
A SHARED STORY? Stories need to be told in order to live on. We want to share with you our passion for the music of the Bach family and shed light on the fascinating life and merits of Sara Levy. We also want to share our joy of exploring, shaping, and discovering new sounds. Thank you for joining us on this journey toward the CD release in 2027!
