Homage to our homeland, made in Austria!
What do we need to feel to know that we are «at home»? Which scents, which tastes and which sounds do we associate with our memories? The search for a musical answer to these questions is the essence of the Tocuyito Trio: Dalina Ugarte, violin - Joseph Ávila, piano - Santo Scala, cello. Our repertoire is our way of sharing with you melodies, rhythms and stories that accompanied many moments of our childhood in Venezuela like a soundtrack.
After four years as an ensemble, we have finally taken the big step to realize our first musical production and capture all these precious memories and sounds in an album.
That’s why we are asking for your financial support so that we can realize this project. This will allow us to reach a wider audience and of course it will also allow you to experience the Tocuyito sound world from the comfort of anywhere!
Classical music meets Venezuela
In our repertoire we have a Venezuelan masterpiece: «El Cruzao», which defines the style of the Tocuyito Trio: A passionate dance in which three steps unexpectedly transform into two, five or nine. «El Cruzao» embodies our artistic vision of fusing different musical genres with our traditional Venezuelan music. Our main classical instruments, violin, cello and piano, always serve as a solid foundation for this creative synthesis.
From original compositions and innovative arrangements that tell the story of the breathtaking landscapes of the Andes to the lively rhythms of the Caribbean coast and the endless Llanos, our program is stirring and varied!
