Between 2016 and 2020, thélème have been working on a recording project that aims to present Clément Janequin’s music with a fresh perspective. The first two CDs were released in 2017 and 2019 and received enthusiastic reviews. The third and final CD will be released in spring 2020.

By combining on each album the music of Clément Janequin (1485-1528) with that of composers from different periods, thélème highlights the artistic richness of this extraordinary composer who influenced many musicians. Associated to the works of Franz Schubert (Vol.1), Claude Le Jeune (Vol. 2), Betsy Jolas, Mike Svoboda and Jannik Giger (Vol. 3), discover the music of Clément Janequin!
We are close to the goal!
When the third volume of this trilogy is released in the spring of 2020, we will have spent countless hours over four years together rehearsing, performing, and recording these repertoires. More than 40 people - instrumentalists and singers, composers, sound engineers, graphic designers, translators, proofreaders, administrators, and others - have contributed passionately to the making of these three CDs.
