This is what it's all about.

💡⚽️ The idea for this project was born during the «Moshi Project» by United Football Organisation, which involves sending football equipment (jerseys, balls, etc.) to the children of the Kilimanjaro Talents Sports Academy in Moshi, Tanzania. This initiative highlighted the lack of access to hygienic menstrual products faced by the young girls at the academy. This issue particularly affects their participation in sports activities, preventing them from playing comfortably and disrupting their daily lives in general.

🩸The United for Her project aims to provide sustainable access to reusable menstrual products for around forty girls aged 11 to 15.

👩🏼👩🏾👩🏻 About us: We are Joanne, Pritika, and Salomé, three international relations students at UNIGE. As part of one of our courses, we partnered with United Football to take part in the Moshi Project and later launched United for Her, an initiative that is especially close to our hearts.

Every small gesture counts, and we thank you in advance 💜

My project is special because ...

Access to menstrual hygiene products is a fundamental right that ensures the dignity, health, and equality of menstruating individuals. Yet, in many places, the cost or lack of availability of these products still prevents too many women and girls from experiencing their periods in safe and healthy conditions. On top of this, a persistent taboo around menstruation fuels shame, silence, and misinformation. Breaking this taboo means enabling better education, a more inclusive society, and a greater awareness of everyone’s real needs.

This is what I need backing for.

Thanks to your donations, we will be able to fund:

  • The purchase of fabrics needed to make menstrual underwear
  • Underwear patterns
  • Sewing machines
  • Transportation costs

Once the materials arrive at their destination, seamstresses in Moshi will be able to start producing menstrual underwear using an instruction guide we will have prepared 🪡

Your support will not only provide access to reusable menstrual products, but also offer the opportunity to develop practical and sustainable skills.
