Walking again - new hips for Cameroun

Hello everyone! My name is Hans, I am a doctor in Switzerland. I would like to raise CHF 20,000 to perform hip operations in Cameroon. If we raise 20,000 CHF by the end of March 2024, we can perform up to 16 hip operations on people who cannot bear the costs themselves. In a first step, the goal is CHF 10,000 for the prosthesis material. This comes from a producer in Turkey. A further CHF 10,000 will be used to finance local wages and hospital stays. Thank you very much for your support.

With the local partner St. Paul Hospital in Douala, Cameroon

Under the direction of Sister Pauline Pélagie Ngo Bitanga, I would like to make hip replacement surgery accessible to people who do not have the financial means to pay for it themselves. An experienced surgeon with Cameroonian roots and German/Swiss training will perform the operations and I will assist.

Material, wages and infrastructure

We want to finance prosthesis material (offer from Otimed 16 prostheses for CHF 10,050), wages for local staff and the post-operative hospital stay (approx. CHF 10,000)
