These are crazy times we are currently living in and especially cultural creators are more than ever in need of your help. After last year’s crowdfunding campaign was so successful due to your great support, this year there will be again the possibility to support the Viennese showcase festival Waves Vienna through a sponsorship of a special kind. But before we introduce you to our grandiose rewards, a few words about the festival:
Waves Vienna has made it its goal to bring out new music in a big way. The festival sees itself as a showcase festival - that is, it’s about discovering new bands, those that have earned more attention, that have international stature, but for one reason or another have not yet washed up to the top. Despite some well-known and hyped bands in the line-up, the large number of acts always also means: drifting from club to club, taking a taste here and there of the various musical biotopes between alternative, electronic, indie, rock and club music in compact form.
What you can expect this year:
- around 100 music acts
- 10 stages directly at the Gürtel or at the Metropol
- an international music conference with workshops, listening sessions and numerous networking opportunities
- 3 days of listening to music, talking about music, dancing to music and discovering music!
Why we need you
A music festival like Waves Vienna with an associated conference and many smaller venues is very complex and cost-intensive to implement. Without subsidies and sponsorships, we cannot finance it with ticket sales alone - not least because we want to keep the ticket price as low as possible so that as many people as possible can get to know new and interesting music from a wide range of countries.
