This is what it's all about.

At the Weltklänge Musiksommer, 40 children can make music, sing, dance, do handicrafts and try out instruments together, regardless of their economic, religious and cultural backgrounds. The Musiksommer will take place for the fifth time in 2022.

A team of association members - motivated young people and young adults from Vorarlberg - looks after the children around the clock. The children are guided musically through the week by members of the association with training in music education. All members of the association work on a voluntary basis.

At the end of the week, there is a public workshop concert where the children can show what they have learned and the families can exchange ideas ( admission is free). Participation is free of charge for all except for a symbolic contribution towards the cost of accommodation, but this will be covered by the association if it cannot be paid.

My project is special because ...

The main goal of the Weltklänge Musiksommer is for children to get to know music as a means of playful exchange and for forging friendships.

The association deliberately does not define the target group of the Musiksommer exclusively as children from socio-economically disadvantaged families; registration is open to all children, i.e. there is no specific selection criterion. However, in the course of the call for applications, refugee coordination offices and various childcare facilities are increasingly being contacted in order to offer children with a refugee biography or from socioeconomically disadvantaged families the opportunity to participate.

The aim of the Weltklänge Musiksommer is to bring together a diverse group of children who can make new friends and experience community through playing music together. Along the way, a sense of belonging and a self-image of living together with people from different economic and cultural backgrounds is created. The final workshop concert offers space for intercultural exchange when the children’s families come together.

This is what I need backing for.

With your support we finance the accommodation and food for the participating children and the Weltklänge team, expenses for T-shirts, excursions, handicraft materials, insurance, the fee for an external workshop, the hall hire and the PR expenses for the workshop concert.
