Storyline and philosophy behind it

Nowadays our world is facing more and more wars, suffering, inhumanity and a huge increase in weapon trades. That’s why we want to make an anti-war short film to raise awareness about this important issue. But what is this short film about? The film is set in World War I and tells the story of two enemy soldiers who are full of hope, dreams, desires and love, but also full of fear and sadness. When they suddenly face each other on the battlefield while experiencing hell on earth, the core of being human comes to the surface and we see the pointless meaning of the war…

Goal and Vision

In many movies, no matter how visually brutal they may be, the plot is often wrapped up in a heroic story, which unfortunately does not always correspond to the truth. The truth is the suffering that people in a war have to endure day after day. Our goal is to produce a film that is as realistic as possible and that touches people and sensitizes them to this important topic. Furthermore we want to present this film at film festivals all over the world, prepare for international evaluation, as well as popularize it on the internet and make it available free of charge for various events, lectures, institutions and foundations for peace in order to get the widest possible reach.

This is why we need your participation

Although we already have some steps of preparation behind us, we still have part of the way to go. The financial resources are primarily used for costumes and equipment as well as production and post-production. Especially here it is important for us to work as realistic as possible to pull the viewer mentally and emotionally into the action. Furthermore, the funds are used for marketing and distribution of the film. (Participation fee at film festivals etc.).

The film will be shot in Austria’s Weinviertel region, on the site of a historic 19th-century brick factory, and is scheduled to be completed by fall 2023.
