What I Don’t Tell You
This is what it's all about.
It has been an incredibly long journey, but the book is finally complete – and I can hardly believe it. In What I Don’t Tell You, I deeply engage with my personal story and the structures of racism. As I recover from a back injury, I reflect on the emotional burden this injury has triggered in me. In each chapter, I intertwine autobiographical experiences with critical social analysis, revealing how deeply racism permeates our lives. At the same time, it becomes clear how confronting these experiences can enable healing. I provide a profound insight into the emotional impacts on those affected and encourage my readers to critically examine their own thought patterns.
My project is special because ...
There are still very few books by Black authors in Switzerland (that address Swiss realities regarding racism) and that also get published. Unfortunately, I haven’t found a publisher for it. However, with your help, I can still publish the book.
This is what I need backing for.
Through crowdfunding, you’re not funding my writing, but rather contributing to the financing of all the work surrounding the book. Self-publishing a book like this is quite a challenge, involving many people: my editor, the book designer, the photographer, the typesetter, the proofreader, and others who support the project. Additionally, part of the printing costs must be covered in advance.
