Wooden Fence for Querida

This is what it's all about.

Querida was born blind. With a little support, she masters her life with flying colors despite her handicap.

We have already converted parts of the stable to make her everyday life easier - but what she still needs is a wooden fence.

Normal paddock fences with strands demand maximum concentration from blind horses - and are unforgiving of mistakes. A sturdy wooden fence, on the other hand, not only helps Querida to find her way around, but also creates safety and minimizes the risk of injury. A wooden fence would give Querida a lot of freedom in everyday life and allow us to let her out into the paddock with her horse friends without supervision. Like other young horses, she can play, run and simply be a horse.

My project is special because ...

The special thing about this project is that we don’t just want to build Querida a wooden fence, but a safe and well-designed living space that meets her special needs.

Querida has been learning every day since she was born and is becoming increasingly independent. Nevertheless, it is clear that a certain amount of support is still necessary and will remain so.

This is what I need backing for.

Blind horses can find their way around with certain adaptations to their environment. Unfortunately, these adaptations are often associated with considerable costs. We have already invested a lot in converting the stable area for Querida and her mom and are now facing further expenses for adapting the open stable area where Querida can be together with her horse friends.

We are therefore dependent on your support to make the pastures safe and suitable for the blind.
