Did you know littering costs Switzerland over 200 million francs each year? Every year, around 2,700 tons of plastic end up in our soil, rivers, and lakes, harming the environment, public health, and future generations.

If we don’t change our behavior, the problem will only grow. The environmental pressure increases as more people live in and enjoy Switzerland’s natural spaces. And the longer we wait, the more expensive and difficult it becomes to preserve our high standards.

Even with millions spent on cleanup, the issue persists. We’ve often felt frustrated and shocked by what we’ve seen on walks, in parks, or along riverbanks.

That led us to a simple but powerful insight: We can’t just wait for top-down solutions — change starts with us. John F. Kennedy once said: «Ask not what your country can do for you — ask what you can do for your country.»

That quote has never felt more relevant. So why don’t we act? Are we too busy? Too comfortable? Do we doubt that small gestures can make a real impact?

But here’s the truth: real power lies in small actions — multiplied by many.

Nature belongs to all of us. And it will only remain vibrant if we take responsibility for it.

That’s why we’re launching Zäme Suber — a community-powered solution to reduce litter in every park.

The idea is simple and effective: Many of us spot litter while jogging or walking and feel annoyed. We’d like to help, but we often lack gloves, bags, or just the right moment.

Zsuber makes it easy.

Our cleanup boxes provide the tools you need, right there in the park — available to everyone, anytime. Whether it’s five minutes or an hour, when you’re ready to act, everything’s ready for you.

And through our app, your contribution becomes visible, gamified, and part of a growing movement — one that’s about respect, community, and a cleaner, prouder future.

What we preserve today shapes the world our children will play, learn, and grow up in tomorrow. Parks and green spaces are more than places of relaxation — they’re part of our identity. But increasing amounts of litter are threatening their beauty and biodiversity.

Litter also poses risks to humans. Cigarette butts are often found on playgrounds, where small children might put them in their mouths — potentially causing severe poisoning.

And what about plastic? Over time, macroplastics break down into microplastics, which then enter rivers, lakes, sediments, the air — and ultimately the bodies of animals and humans. ➡️ Littering turns into microplastics, which not only pollute the environment but may also end up in our bodies.
