What´s that?
This project is about a space for guests which will be built in a brand-new building in the Berlin Neukölln district. It´s supposed to serve artists or researchers in any cultural discipline as a place of inexpensive and convenient accomodation.
You will find all you need in the 25 sqm room: a fully furnished room with a small kitchen and bathroom, bags of light and sunshine, a roof-terrasse, wireless internet. Nice neighbours and bicycles for rent included. But we haven´t got that far yet: First of all, the CHF 4000 we are trying to collect here (EURO 3300) need to be invested in construction materials such as bricks, plaster, cables, etc. Only after the structure is built we can think of further steps.
Where´s that?
The site we are talking about is located in the more quiet part of Berlin-Neukölln which is called Rixdorf. Nearby you can find unique parks like the former airport Tempelhof, turkish markets, loads of bars, restaurants, clubs and much more.
What´s that for?
This is meant to be an experiment which is supposed to liberate a space from capitalist mechanisms. Your help is needed!
Based on the assumption that art enriches our lives with plentyfulness as well as unintentionality, the attempt here is to apply this philosophical attitude to an architecturally built space. In other words: Noone really needs this space, I don´t need it either. Therefore it can serve as an undetermined space, a space where different things can happen but nothing must happen.
How´s that?
Firstly, you will get the souvenirs, after that it´s the turn for those of you who get an overnight-stay, which we will arrange with you individually to make an appointment. But still, what we need is patience, it´s a lot of work to do! We don´t want you to feel bored, that´s why we created a facebook-site whith all the latest info about the project plus photos and videos. That´s also the place where you can post any good ideas concerning the interior-design or just general comments.

Yes, Berlin is cheap but even there you would probably get a garden shed for CHF 4000. What we are talking about is just the money that is missing to get the whole thing started.
