Who we are:
We, Lea and Esther Birringer, have been playing music together for as long as we can remember. What makes as so special as a sister double act? Here’s what the Bayrischer Rundfunk had to say: «The same wavelength, a compatible temperament, a blind understanding – core parameters for captivating interpretations in chamber music.» We «are bursting with musical enthusiasm, more precisely: a musical combativeness.» Do you want a small taste?
What is this project about?
About three years after the release of our debut CD featuring 20th century pieces, our musical journey is taking a century-long step back: with selected late Romantic pieces we want to build musical bridges – from the fairy-tale world of Scandinavia with the Sonata by Edvard Grieg to Franz Liszt’s touching dirges all the way to the highly dramatic music of César Franck, a true odyssey of emotion. The CD features music full of poetry and passion, inviting the listener to join us on an auditory journey following the romantic sound of the 19th century. There are no limits to the listener’s imagination.
This February, we finally managed to record the entire album in a co-production with the Saarländischer Rundfunk, and we’re really looking forward to sharing our music with you! But we still have a long way to go…

Why should you support this project?
100% of the money will be used to produce and market the CD. This includes the costs of the recording at the Saarländischer Rundfunk, as well as for pressing the CD, printing the booklet and its translations and producing the images and the PR material (photos for the CD cover, a promotional video etc.). To successfully present the CD on the market, PR costs also need to be covered. This includes CD reviews and placement in music magazines, radio studio visits and, of course, CD presentations, which you are also more than welcome to attend and where we can present ourselves and our recorded music. If the project ends up being ’overfunded’, we would use the opportunity to invest even more in advertising and in the further planning of CD presentation concerts. We expect our total expenses to be at least 10,000 euros.
