- Du ermöglichst das Design, den Druck und die Endfertigung eines Spiels, das überall, wo es einen mittleren Veranstaltungsraum gibt, alleine, zu zweit oder in Teams gespielt werden kann.
- Bei dem Spiel handelt es sich um ein klassisches Doppel-9er-Domino in groß mit dem Thema Freie Wahlen. Auf den etwa 1,60m hohen Aufstellern wählt man zwischen 100 Foto-Portaits von Normalbürgern und –bürgerinnen und bekommt die Geschichte der Freien Wahlen vermittelt.
- Das Projekt-Team besteht aus dem Fotokünstler Detlef Löffler, dem Historiker Raimund Grilc und dem Künstler–Szenografen-Museologen Alex Samyi.
Es funktioniert
Das Spiel kann verborgenes Zukunftspozential freilegen. Am Ende jeder Runde gibt es ein kleines Wahl-Experiment mit Zettel und Urne – und wahrscheinlich überraschenden Ergebnissen.
Fünf Jahre lang soll Das Spiel samt Handbuch (Katalog) und Vermittlungsprogramm auf Tour gehen, nämlich für das «Museum am Bach».
Gegenwartskunst und Systemkunde
Detlef und ich gehören zum Museum am Bach, das in Ruden (Kärnten) soziale Modelle und Utopien sammelt. Das 2014 gegründete Museum für Gegenwartskunst und Systemkunde ist trotz staatlicher Förderungen zu 80% von privater Unterstützung abhängig.
Der Fokus auf die Freien Wahlen als wichtigstes Instrument der Demokratie ist auch der rote Faden der Sonderausstellung 2020 im eigenen Haus: «Die Wahl der Wahl. 100 Jahre Kärntner Volksabstimmung».

The Happy Community Dominoes
A travelling art project on the edge to new social systems
It was Socrates who said, that the secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new.
The International Council of Museums (ICOM) has defined museums as follows: «A museum is a non-profit, permanent institution in the service of society and its development, open to the public, which acquires, conserves, researches, communicates and exhibits the tangible and intangible heritage of humanity and its environment, for the purposes of education, study and enjoyment» (ICOM, 2006).
’Museums Change Lives’ is the vision of the Museums Association for the increasing social impact of museums. This encourages museums to be ambitious about their role in society. All museums can support positive social change whatever their subject matter.
The vision of the Museum am Bach in Ruden, Austria goes even further. We envision museums connecting their audiences to one global system of peace. The Museum am Bach for contemporary art and social systems is collecting models and utopias.
We are the association of Friends of the Museum am Bach and invite you to support one of our most innovative and ambitious projects, The Happy Community Dominoes (Das Spiel).
You would get a giant Double Nine domino set with 55 tiles, which enfold about 100 portraits of civilians, ordinary citizens. These portraits taken by artist and photographer Detlef Löffler are a documentary exhibition on the freedom of choice. At the end of a large format play of dominoes, a social and political experiment unfolds. The main challenge is to imagine the ultimate freedom of choice. What if one may vote for any(!!!) person in a government or a leadership team?
Even though this travelling, participative art project might neither spark any new civil rights movement, nor spark enthusiasm within existing institutions – we still hope for support from both sides during our Europe tour starting May 2016. Society is in need of new structures and system change instead of warfare. By supporting us you are part of an active search for new social systems in the future, for solutions on political corruptness and social inequity.
