On a confrontation course

Under the theme CLASH, different values, traditions and expectations clash. Are analog and digital in opposition with each other? What creative potential do cultural differences hold? How do expectation and reality meet? At what point does the natural become artificial? The third Design Biennale Zurich presents a dozen experimental design projects from Switzerland.

A platform for design

This year we are coming up with several alterations: The venue will be the Old Botanical Garden UZH in the center of Zurich. The duration will be extended from 4 to 25 days. For the outdoor exhibition, we invite twelve designers from various disciplines to contribute a «Carte blanche» (display position) from August 12 to September 5, 2021.

And here they are, the selected design positions of the Design Biennale Zurich 2021:

This is how you can help us

A dozen designers are working on their projects right now for the next edition of the Design Biennale Zurich. It is going to be diverse, interactive and exciting - the best Design Biennale Zürich ever! But the uncertainties are still great. In our case, the uncertainties are financial. Specifically, we are CHF 10,000 short.

We urgently need your support so that we can implement and label the projects, produce a flyer, update our website or proofread and translate the texts! But as you can imagine, this is by far not all that is needed. If we exceed the contribution, we can do everything even better: production, communication, supporting program and mediation.

Buy a single ticket or a Biennale Pass! You may not need them - but we do! Spoiler: Admission is free. We thank you in advance and keep our fingers firmly crossed that the great projects will become reality with your help.
