This is what it's all about.
Emilie Flöge was a fashion designer, artist, and entrepreneur — and a woman who, at the beginning of the 20th century, quite literally liberated the female body. Her creations rejected corsets, promoted freedom of movement, and equally, freedom of thought. She advocated for women’s education, economic independence, and innovation.
Today, Emilie is often mentioned as «Klimt’s companion,» but rarely remembered for what she truly was: a woman ahead of her time.
«Die Andere Emilie» is a fashion-art project that grows through research, visual exploration, and the reinterpretation of history. Through upcycling, old materials, and a contemporary visual language, I create space to reflect on women who, like Emilie, created in silence.
This is my way of drawing strength from the past — and through sketches, working processes, photography, and textiles, releasing a new, contemporary Emilie.
With your support, I will realize the visual side of the project — a photo series (Editorial) that captures the spirit, emotion, and silent strength of this story. The visuals will serve as both tribute and tool: a way to remember, reflect, and inspire. In a time when speed and spectacle dominate fashion, «Die Andere Emilie» invites us to pause. To reflect. To create with meaning. It’s a space for those who don’t shout — but still shape the world.
My project is special because ...
Fashion can be more than consumption — it can be memory, resistance, and transformation. This project gives forgotten materials and forgotten women a new voice. Each fabric carries a story; each image captures a feeling that words often can’t express.
By connecting upcycling, history, and visual storytelling, Die Andere Emilie honors silent strength — the kind that shaped the world quietly, without applause.
In a time when it sometimes feels like we’re moving backwards — especially when it comes to women’s rights — it becomes even more urgent to bring these stories back. To recycle them, reinterpret them, and pass them on.
This is not just about aesthetics. It’s about creating space for women’s voices, about sustainability as a mindset, and about rewriting history through care, attention, and imagination.
Supporting this project means supporting gentle resistance, creative freedom, and a different kind of future.
This is what I need backing for.
To bring Die Andere Emilie to life visually, I’m creating a photo series that captures the atmosphere, emotion, and essence of the project. Your support will help cover the basic production costs needed to realize this part of the work:
– Hair and Make up artist fees
– Photographer fee
– Visual production and editing
Total: 550 €
Every contribution, no matter the amount, brings this quiet story one step closer to being seen and heard.
