Eine Art Chansons
Singer Agnes Heginger and Ensemble Studio Dan have been working on recording this epic song cycle by Friedrich Cerha since November, 2014.
The entire song cycle by renowned Austrian composer Friedrich Cerha, «Eine Art Chansons» and «Eine letzte Art Chansons» contains a monumental 72 songs. For the first time ever on this CD, a woman will sing these songs, which set texts from the «Wiener Gruppe», a post-war group of avant-garde Austrian poets and writers.

But we’re getting ahead of ourselves. This project really began back in 1989, when Cerha wrote «Putzi Gedichti/Aria für Nali» on text by Friedrich Achleitner. Here’s video of Agnes singing it:
