Soon we’d like to present our award-winning album ‚Morbides mit Charakter’ on CD. From baroque to modern, harpsichord and mellophone, birth to grave - daring, charming and touching.
In the course of our concerts we were often approached with the wish to buy our music in a more lasting way. So we decided to go and record our first album in the studio. In order to finish the CD, we’re now asking for your support. Soprano voice, violin, cello and harpsichord used to be quite a common combination some time ago. But Ensemble Verbotene Frucht is aiming to connect the past with the present. Through the combination of various styles, the versatility of each musician and special arrangements, old structures shine in a new, contemporary light.

Morbides mit Charakter
Nowadays death is a topic not much talked about. Our album reflects the wish to give it more room and brighten its negative connotation. Through the often seamless combination of styles and the addition of expressive texts and songs, the listener is drawn into a programme that feels more like show than a concert.
In its first year the album ‚Morbides mit Charakter’ was awarded the «Masefield-Preis der Alfred Toepfer Stiftung F.V.S. Hamburg». Concerts in Hamburg, Baden bei Wien, Steyr and at the Musiksommer Bad Schallerbach as well as a concert at Brucknerhaus Linz in collaboration with actress Julia Stemberger followed.

Elisabeth Wimmer
studierte in Wien und London, trällerte lange Zeit am Deutschen Nationaltheater Weimar, seither freischaffend auf zahlreichen Bühnen von Rostock über Reims bis New York und zurück nach Mitteleuropa, kennt alle wichtigen und unwichtigen Weinsorten, liebt das Meer, fährt BMW
Carina Wimmer
nahtloser Karrieresprung vom Studium in Linz und Hamburg zur Mutter und Hausfrau, war in früheren Zeiten auch Substitutin im Bruckner Orchester Linz, hatte mal rote Haare, isst gerne und viel, fährt U-Bahn, spielt eine Violine aus Holz
Gabriel Hopfmüller
Studium in Graz und Eisenstadt, Dauersubstitut der Töpfer (oder darf man das in der Öffentlichkeit so nicht schreiben?), spielt gelegentlich Tuba in der Staatsoper Wien und im Blasorchester Bad Vöslau, trinkt allerdings Römerquelle, nennt sich «Erlkönig», bäckt vorzügliches Bananabread, schwimmt gerne seine Längen in der Badewanne
Alexander Gergelyfi
stammt trotz seines Vornamens aus Oberösterreich, studierte in Graz, Straßburg und Hamburg, hält seine Studenten in Wien und Dresden in Schach, assistiert am Nationaltheater Mannheim, ist wortgewandt, 12 von 10 Müttern würden ihn ihren Töchtern empfehlen
