Three women, each in a different stage of life

Ida takes care of her mother, who suffers from dementia, while her daughter Ariana grows up in cheerful innocence. Ida’s mother’s condition worsens – she forgets birthdays and drifts into moments of the past. Yet small rituals remain: walks, tea time, and board games. When Ariana draws a picture inspired by the stories her grandmother once told, it becomes clear that memories can live on in new ways, passed down through generations.

A personal story

In January 2025, I read the biography of my maternal grandmother – a moment that touched me deeply and sparked the idea for this short film.

It tells the story of her final years, during which she lived with dementia. During that time, my mother and I often visited her. For my mother, it was an intense and demanding period, and I witnessed how much she did for her own mother.

But this film is not just about care and connection – it represents a significant part of my own childhood. Many memories I share with my grandmother have left a lasting impact on me.

That’s why I need your support

This film project is very close to my heart – but as an independent filmmaker, I rely on financial support to bring it to life. Production comes with many costs: from equipment and locations to crew, actors, set design, accommodation, catering, and the complex post-production process. Without support, realizing this project in its intended form wouldn’t be possible.
