The JSG needs your support!

The Jungle Street Groove is a non-commercial parade for electronic music and has been taking place in Basel since 1995. During 3 hours, up to 12 groove trucks with soundsystems ride through the city center. The music ranges from Jungle & Drum&Bass, to House & Techno, Dubstep, Electro and Reggae. The parade offers a platform for non-profit oriented culture, working together with DJs, musicians and promoters from Switzerland and across the border. Since the beginning, the event is being organized without any commercial sponsorship, and we want to keep it that way.

The last Jungle Street Groove attracted 8000 people and 12 Groovetrucks and was a great success. On the 1st of September 2012, the JSG will start for the 14th time. This year’s route goes from Schaffhauserrheinweg, along the Rhein until Kaserne. Following the parade, the official afterparty will take place at the Hinterhof with Drums of Death (live – UK).

Why we need your support

Because the JSG has grown over the last few years, we are facing higher costs for the staff, disposal and toilets. But most of all, because the requirements of the city administration become more severe each year, the costs for this year’s parade have reached an all-time high. For the first time, the JSG-team has to pay for the police operation and traffic blocks.

In previous years, the parade could be financed fully by ticket sales on the afterparty and by selling drinks. This year however, we will not be able to bear the extra costs, which run up to 7000 Swiss Francs. Without your support, we won't be able to organise the Jungle Street Groove after this year. That is why we are counting on your support, to make sure that this unique event can still take place in the next years.
