This is what it's all about.
The tigernut, also called cyperus esculentus by its scientific name, is a root tuber that has nourished our ancestors for thousands of years. Tigernuts occupy an important place in the diet of today and will be even more so in the future.
Tiger nut is a «super food» with multiple nutritional properties:
- Gluten-free
- Lactose-free
- Rich in vitamins C and E
- Rich in polyunsaturated acids (Omega 6 & 9)
- Rich in magnesium
- Rich in vegetable fibres.
Settled in Switzerland for 5 years and after having gone through the health crisis from which we could not escape, we would like to relaunch the local production of the vegetable drink based on tiger nut, for which BACK TO ROOTS, a family business with a social character is a pioneer in Switzerland
As part of our healthy eating philosophy, we have worked on the development of several products, including this drink with recognized benefits, in partnership with the Valais School of Engineering in particular. Our unique beverage production process with few ingredients makes it possible to offer a tasty and unrivaled alternative to other vegetable milks, while retaining its nutritional values. This organic vegetable milk suitable for all types of consumers is 100% natural, without added sugar, extracted then cold pasteurized, and contains no chemical additives or preservatives.
My project is special because ...
BACK TO ROOTS = healthy products, few ingredients and a social and environmental commitment. Our range of products meets the needs of certain health issues, and meets the nutritional and taste expectations of many consumers. BACK TO ROOTS wants to be a sustainable company that participates in the Swiss economic ecosystem and contributes through its social commitment to the creation of many jobs in rural African areas. This close cooperation with local structures promotes the development of the integration of women through employment via partner women’s cooperatives. In addition, this model allows families settled on site to produce and sell food products on their behalf at the territorial level in an ecological balance.
This is what I need backing for.
After launching milk production in 2019 with a particularly encouraging growth curve, we, like many, suffered from the pandemic, and were forced to stop production. Our customers are gradually asking us again, convinced of the benefits of our product, we have the will, thanks to you, to have the means to relaunch production and make this exceptional nectar more widely known to the general public.
