Who we are – what we do
For over 12 years, the Basler Kindernaescht team has hosted children from all over the world. The main idea is to offer convenient childcare, right in the centre of Basel, which allows children to play, do craftwork and just to be kids whilst their parents do whatever they have to do. Children can stay for however long the parents wish, ranging from a few hours to a whole day. Drop-off and collection times are completely flexible and relaxed. We also have the capacity to look after children with disabilities. We are the only childcare organisation in the central Basel area with extended opening times. We are open from Monday until Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. We are a non-profit organisation because we want to be as affordable to as many people as possible. That’s why we need your support!
Why do we need your support?
Our rooms have seen and been through a lot in the past years. In particular, our time-honoured carpet has been battered and stained by little feet and many spillages. That’s why we want to replace it with one that is cleaner and smarter. Furthermore, time and many playful hands have also worn out our toys. Our ride-on cars, play kitchen, Lego and many other smaller toys are now sadly unsafe to use. As a result, we have had to throw many away. We need to replace these toys in order to offer the best experience to the children in our care.
