🫧 Clean without leaving a trace
My name is Elise, and my love for nature has always been a part of me. Growing up in the countryside, I am deeply sensitive to the beauty around me: the smell of forests, the breath of the wind, the purity of the water… I am moved by these elements and I have always been committed to protecting them. In 2020, I became a mother. The birth of my son strengthened my convictions, and more than ever, I feel the responsibility to set an example and take action.
🧬 Purpose in my DNA
Convinced that everything is in nature, I created MOA, a brand that offers a new sustainable cleaning solution :
🌱 made from natural products, sourced locally,
🪵 that repurpose wood ashes from the Jura,
✅ beneficial for people and the environment.
I traveled across our beautiful Switzerland to find the right raw materials, with one goal: to offer a 100% Swiss made detergent. The ashes sourced in the Jura, the fragrance comes from Geneva, the production taked place in Vaud, and the development in Fribourg. A real local production!
🌍 Preserve our resources and ecosystem
♻ An upcycled natural product
With its degreasing, cleaning, and deodorizing properties, wood ash is like gold. Yet, it fills Swiss wastelands! 75,000 tons of wood ash are discarded every year. MOA choses to repurpose some of it, recovered from a heating center in the Jura. No trees are cut down for the production of the detergent!
🍃 Biodegradable detergents without microplastics
The composition of detergents directly affects the quality of the water and the life of our beautiful swiss lakes. Did you know that before the 1980s, the lakes were cloudy? In 1986, Switzerland banned phosphates in detergents and the lakes regained their clear blue color. But the fight is far from over. A new challenge has emerged: the biodegradability of components and the presence of microplastics. Convinced that protecting nature goes hand in hand with protecting our health, I developed a detergent without microplastics and highly biodegradable.
MOA products rely on an ancestral and natural method. Before 1950, laundry was done by «boiling the lye»: boiling water was passed through a tank of ashes, and the water would flow onto the laundry. The cycles lasted for hours! I brought this know-how up to date while preserving its effectiveness.
⚙ What Process?
- First, the wood ash is sifted to purify it.
- It is then mixed with water, which releases potash, a molecule with detergent and degreasing properties.
- Sequestering and cleaning agents are added.
- For one of the detergents, the scent of pine needles is added. Essential for those who love to wrap themselves in delicately scented clothes.
