One has plenty of it and the other one can use it – fruit! We have a market, which trades all kinds of fruit. Fresh, as juice or dried. The money from our sales will give a support to cut trees.

Take care of the old trees and make nice things from their fruits

Today the farmers business is really modern: machines, big areas to work with, and all this with few people. And then they have still this big old trees from grandpa. Yes, such a big apple-tree has its age. About 80 to 140 years. In earlier times, the trees were planted for the next generation. And if its a good and rich harvest, there is plenty of fruit! Sometimes even too much.

But what is the problem?

Like the cows of the farmers need to be feeded, the trees need a good cut from time to time. And here is the problem: if you are tired of harvesting fruit, you won’t maintain them. The ObstPflegeBörse want to help such tree-owners by bringing new value to the fruit. The tree will earn the money for beeing cutted by giving his fruit. And we have a lot of rare species around here!

What we need the money for

The biggest part (3/4) of your money goes directly to the trees. They get a professional cut. Some of us tree-cutters in the valley meet from time to time.. talk about their «science» an exchange experiences. Most of us visited the fruit-growing school «Öschberg». We know the region and its trees and this will help me to do the administration: Where are trees with fruit which nobody wants, who is the contact? Whats the value of this fruit (apple) compared with another (prune)? How to use the fruits to get the best of it?
It will be a lots of fun to explore new kinds and tastes.
