Berlin based «Oh Pamela Magazine» is the lovechild of Jasmin Kokkola and Sheila Buser. Born out of our passion for photography, art and the printed media, the magazine was founded to promote young international artists, who’s work is at the cutting edge of our time. Artists not only with a special talent, but also visible passion, intelligence and a strong esthetic.
Emotion, provocation, youth, sex, humor, conceptualism, honesty, strangeness… these are the things that draw us in. The result will be page after page of visual pleasure, with large spreads for each artist, high print quality, beautiful paper - all without adds or compromises in content.
The first issue of Oh Pamela Magazine is to launch this autumn 2013. In order to make the printing and distribution possible we hope for your help! We would be grateful for any and all donations, big and small!
Who we are
We are Jasmin Kokkola snd Sheila Buser, and both of us are completing a Bachelor of Arts in Photography at Berliner Technische Kunsthochschule. The idea for Oh Pamela sprung out of our mutual desire to create a magazine during our bachelor degree which would grow and continue to exist.
We are excited to have five very talented young artists from around the world collaborate with us for our first issue.
- Brianna Capotzzi - USA
- Haliz Muhliden - Finland
- Jasmin Kokkola - Germany/Finland
- Maja Malou - Denmark
- Nico Krijno - South Africa
- Ren Hang - China
- Sheila Buser - Germany/Switzerland
Accompanying Oh Pamela Magazine we opened the doors of Venus Flytrap Gallery in Berlin this June. This way, joining the launch of our magazine we will be able to exhibit selected works by all artist featured in the magazine. We were already able to present our own work during our opening as well as during the art festival «48 Hours Neukölln» and were very glad to see lots of visitors. We will continue exhibiting work by talented people throughout the summer. Check it out on facebook.
Publishing & Distribution
Oh Pamela is not only a magazine, but a beautiful collectible item in itself. Issue #1 will be published in a limited edition of 1000 copies, making it that much more special.
We hope to make the magazine available for purchase at top stores throughout europe, including «Do You Read Me?» in Berlin, «Colette» and «Palais de Tokyo» in Paris as well as many more. «Oh Pamela» will of course also be available for purchase online.
What will the future bring?
Oh Pamela Magazine will continue to be published biannually. We hope for your support to be able to launch as a small business, which will continue to grow with each new issue of the magazine. The revenue we earn from Oh Pamela Issue #1will be directed towards creating, printing and distributing the next issue! We will put all our efforts into creating a magazine which is sustainable even in a time when the printed media is dying. Because there is nothing like a magazine fresh off the press… the weight in your hands, the feeling of the paper on your fingertips, the smell of ink and then… the content itself.
This way we hope to provide a platform for young talents from around the world to publish their work in printed form for a new audience… and also a way for the world to discover and enjoy the work of these artists.
